Director James Gunn has revealed that he played the character Lambshank in the latest Marvel Cinematic Universe movie Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
Who was James Gunn’s character Lambshank in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3?
On Twitter, Gunn revealed who comedian and actor Pete Davidson played in the Guardians of the Galaxy sequel, then stated that he himself voiced the character of Lambshank.
When asked by a Twitter user who Lambshank (pictured below) was, Gunn said that she’s the character that Mantis screams in front of “because she sees something behind her.”
This is referencing a joke from the movie when Mantis is frightened by Lambshank’s unsettling appearance, but says that it was something behind the creature that frightened her to spare the animal’s feelings.
Another user played along with the joke, saying they forgot something behind Lambshank scared Mantis and that Lambshank herself looked “very cool,” which Gunn agreed with.
Finally, one more user said that Lambshank was an “abhorrent thing,” which James Gunn cheekily responded to with, “I resent that. She’s beautiful.”
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 was directed by James Gunn and was released in theaters on May 5. The sequel heavily features the backstory of Rocket — the armed and snarky raccoon voiced by Bradley Cooper — and his history with the film’s villain, The High Evolutionary (played by Chukwudi Iwuji). Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is now playing in theaters.
