Resident Evil The Complete Collection [4K Blu-ray]

$59.99

Six movies of Milla Jovovich kicking the crap out of zombies and mutants for approximately $10 each. If you plan on watching any of them more than once, that’s still a better deal than renting. If HD doesn’t matter, get the DVD version for $13.59. If 4K doesn’t, the Blu-ray set is $24.95.

Sci-Fi: Triple Feature (BD) (Soylent Green, Logan’s Run, Omega Man) [Blu-ray]

$18.18

Fun fact: Soylent Green is set in the year 2022. It arguably predicted overpopulation, overfishing, the climate crisis, and a health care system so fundamentally broken that people die before their time. Thankfully, though, real life hasn’t gotten to the big twist…yet. Both it and Omega Man represent peak Charlton Heston sci-fi not involving apes, as he navigates apocalyptic, hostile worlds that he cannot escape from unscathed. Logan’s Run, though unrelated, tells of a future where anyone under 30 faces execution, unless they can find a way to escape from their world altogether.

Planet of the Apes 1-3 Trilogy [4K Ultra HD + Blu-Ray + Digital] [4K UHD]

$24.99

Speaking of those damn, dirty apes…. These aren’t the ones Heston had a problem with, but rather, the newer trilogy in which James Franco raises an intelligent ape named Caesar (Andy Serkis) as a plague unleashes upon humankind. Arguably prequels to the Heston series, they’re also generally more acclaimed, thanks to outstanding motion capture animation and performances.

Batman 4K Film Collection [4K UHD]

$69.99

Before Bale. Before Ben. When Batsuits had rubber muscles. Enjoy both acclaimed Tim Burton Bat-flicks to see Michael Keaton in action before his DCEU comeback. Then enjoy Joel Schumacher’s gaudy follow-ups starring Val Kilmer and George Clooney, all in glorious 4K.

Predator: 4-Movie Collection [Blu-ray] [4K UHD]

$35.99

Though there’s little continuity between the four Predator films, each features the distinct vision of its director, from John McTiernan’s classic action to Nimrod Antal’s world-building.  $9 apiece for ultra high definition is a steal.

Matrix, The 4-Film Déjà vu Collection (4K UHD + BD + Digital)

$76.49

Own all four Matrix films together, including the recent deconstructionist sequel that seems likely to grow in esteem as the years go by. Unfortunately The Animatrix is not included, but Neo’s entire journey to date gets the highest upgrade it deserves.
