Lucky the Pizza Dog Spreads Cuteness in Hawkeye Character Posters

If you haven’t already had your ‘aww’ moment today, get ready for it. Marvel Studios just debuted a set of character posters for the upcoming Hawkeye series. The promotional material offers a closer look at the titular hero portrayed by Jeremy Renner and at Hailee Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop. But more importantly, it features Lucky the Pizza Dog seemingly winking at fans. The comic book story is way more dramatic and implies the cute dog lost the use of his eye after saving Hawkeye. It remains to be seen, however, if a Disney+ show can go there.

The series will premiere its first two installments on Disney+ next Wednesday, November 24. The show will explore the relationship between Renner’s Clint Barton and his new protégé. Most likely, it will lead to Barton leaving the mantle of Hawkeye to Kate. The story is loosely based on the 2012 comic book arc created by Matt Fraction and David Aja.

Jonathan Igla created the series helmed by Rhys Thomas together with directing duo Bert and Bertie. The cast also features Vera Farmiga, Fra Fee, Tony Dalton, Zahn McClarnon, Brian d’Arcy James and newcomer Alaqua Cox as Maya Lopez. Per the official logline:

“The Disney+ original series is set in post-blip New York City where former Avenger Clint Barton aka Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) has a seemingly simple mission: get back to his family for Christmas. But when a threat from his past shows up, Hawkeye reluctantly teams up with Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld), a 22-year-old skilled archer and his biggest fan, to unravel a criminal conspiracy.”
