Earlier this year, Don Cheadle made his first post-Avengers: Endgame appearance in the MCU in the series premiere of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. He only showed up for about 90 seconds of screentime. Regardless, Cheadle is sure to have a much bigger role in Marvel’s upcoming Armor Wars series. The show was announced at Disney’s Investor Day presentation last year alongside several other new Marvel-themed series in the works. There hasn’t been a lot of new info on the project since then. But while speaking with Collider, Cheadle hinted that new developments might be happening soon.
Kevin Feige previously revealed that Armor Wars will see Tony Stark’s Iron Man technology falling into the wrong hands. As far as we know, Marvel still hasn’t found a head writer to mold this premise into a six-hour miniseries. But Cheadle revealed that he and some of the studio brass will convene in the near future to start having conversations about the direction of the show.
“All I know is that we’re going to go into the room in a couple of weeks and actually start trying to break the spine of the story and figure out who, what, when, and where for all of it,” said Cheadle. “It’s super early in the development stages so I couldn’t even spoil it if I wanted to. I don’t know what happens.”

Based on his remarks, it sounds like Cheadle is going to be heavily involved in Armor Wars’ creative process, perhaps even serving as an executive producer just as Tom Hiddleston was on Loki. Story details are slim at the moment. However, it also seems likely that Dominique Thorne will reprise her role as Riri Williams from Marvel’s upcoming Ironheart series as well.
Disney+ hasn’t announced a premiere date for Armor Wars.
