Boss Fight Studio‘s first 1980 Flash Gordon movie action figure is still just a preorder, but the company’s confident enough that they just revealed two future figures. One, perhaps unsurprisingly, a variant Flash from later in the film. The other, an all-new Prince Barin, as portrayed by then-future James Bond Timothy Dalton. Frequently enemies onscreen, Flash and Barin formed an alliance after Flash spared Barin’s life in their trial by combat.
It’s too early to tell if a full lineup of characters from the film can come from this. Undoubtedly the sales of the first figures help to determine more. But there’s a wealth of personalities to choose from. Mike Hodges’ film boasted a large ensemble of major characters, from villains like General Kala and Klytus to heroes like Dale Arden and Hans Zarkov. And then there were many with shifting allegiances, not to mention striking background characters like Aura’s pet Fellini and Prince Thun of Ardentia.

Neither the new Flash nor Barin is up for preorder yet, but Boss Fight also recently added comic-based Flash and Ming the Merciless figures, for delivery next spring. Presumably the additional movie figures ship after that.
