Earlier this week, The CW’s Superman and Lois TV series cast Emmanuelle Chriqui as Lana Lang, the first love of Clark Kent. Now, Deadline is reporting that Erik Valdez has also joined the series as Lana’s husband, Kyle Cushing.
Kyle is an original creation for the series. The report describes him as “Smallville’s fire chief and local hero who’s seen his fair share of tragedy. Small town raised with small town beliefs, Kyle doesn’t care much for the big city and often butts heads with people that come from it.” In the comics, Lana was married to Clark’s best friend, Pete Ross.
Previously, Valdez was a series regular on General Hospital, and he had a major role in USA’s crime drama, Graceland. He has also appeared in New Girl, 90210, Gilmore Girls, and Mistresses.

Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch will headline the series as Clark Kent/Superman and Lois Lane. Jordan Elsass and Alexander Garfin will also star in the series as Superman and Lois’ sons, Jonathan and Jordan Kent. Additionally, Dylan Walsh will portray Lois’ father, General Sam Lane.
