Hot Toys Shows More of the Star Wars Sith Troopers

Are you seeing red over the lack of new Star Wars movie toy reveals so far this year? Us too! Red Stormtroopers, that is. These new foot soldiers of the Sith are the only new characters from The Rise of Skywalker to officially get revealed as toys so far. And in keeping with Lucasfilm’s usual secrecy, nothing in the toy description gives out any plot details whatsoever. Though the Hot Toys figures stand does feature a new Sith logo. One reminiscent of the “M” on Todd McFarlane’s Spawn’s costume, for whatever that’s worth.

The only Sith we know of who’ll be in the new movie is Darth Sidious, a.k.a. Sheev Palpatine, a.k.a. the Emperor. It seems safe to assume these soldiers will be a part of his entourage. Kylo Ren and Supreme Leader Snoke were very specifically not Sith. A seemingly arbitrary distinction, given that they did everything the Sith would normally do. But the Knights of Ren are supposedly their own thing.

The new figures come with two blasters and multiple hands for different poses. Their bodies are fully articulated to get in some badass John Woo-style dual shooter action. So let’s hope for their sake that the armor holds up better than that of the Stormtroopers from the original trilogy. After all, they lost a war to teddy bears.
