HBO’s upcoming take on Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons’ Watchmen continues to assert itself as one of the most clandestine TV productions in recent memory. Every time a new casting announcement is made, the actor’s character is almost always shrouded in secrecy. And the show’s latest addition is no exception. Deadline brings word that actor Dustin Ingram has joined the series in a “key recurring role.”
Ingram’s resume primarily consists of television work. Most notably, he portrayed legendary rockabilly singer Carl Perkins on two episodes of CMT’s Sun Records. He has also guest-starred on episodes of The Magicians, True Blood, and Unfabulous. This month, he began appearing on the new Freeform series, Good Trouble. Ingram hasn’t had many recognizable film roles outside of an appearance in 2011’s Paranormal Activity 3.

So far, any details surrounding Watchmen’s characters have been few and far between. The only concrete bit of info seems to be that Jeremy Irons is playing an older Adrian Veidt / Ozymandias. This revelation gives credence to the theory that the new series is actually a sequel to Moore and Gibbons’ original graphic novel. Other cast members assembled by showrunner Damon Lindelof include Regina King, Tim Blake Nelson, Don Johnson, Adelaide Clemens, Andrew Howard, Jean Smart, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, and Hong Chau.
Moreover, we recently got our first glimpse at footage from the series in a preview of HBO’s 2019 programming schedule. But unfortunately, it again prompted more questions than answers. This, along with the series’ arcane social media activity, is sure to keep fans on their toes until a proper trailer is finally released.
