The full DC Comics April 2016 solicitations have been released, and in the gallery viewer below, you can now check out all the artwork, synopses and product images for nearly 150 different upcoming releases!
Following on the heels of Zack Snyder’s long-awaited Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice , the DC Comics April 2016 solicitations offer up a variety of books featuring Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman and more. DC Comics is also getting a head start on the August 5 release of Suicide Squad with quite a few Harley Quinn books, including a Harley Quinn and the Suicide Squad April Fool’s Special . The official synopsis for that book reads as follows:
“Dr. Harleen Frances Quinzel, M.D., welcomes you to Evil Anonymous, the support group for super villains in need; where no problem is too insane or homicidal, and where discretion is assured as only a clown princess of crime can—which is to say, not at all. But when Harley Quinn starts using her patients’ own evil schemes against them, it turns out that a much bigger, far more dangerous, and truly life-altering joke is being played on her.”
The DC Comics April 2016 solicitations also offer a unique book from writer Paul Dini and artist Eduardo Risso. Dark Night: A True Batman Story tells the true story of a brutal attack on Dini that happened in the 1990s.
“DC and Vertigo have given me the unique opportunity to tell this personal story,” says Dini, “rendered better than I could have dreamed by the powerful artwork of Eduardo Risso. It is my hope that Dark Night: A True Batman Story will both provide an interesting window into a writer’s mind in a time of crisis, and perhaps inspire other victims of violence to search for the heroes inside themselves.”

DARK NIGHT: A TRUE BATMAN STORY HC
Written by PAUL DINI Art and cover by EDUARDO RISSO On sale JUNE 15 • 128 pg, FC, $22.99 US • MATURE READERS The Caped Crusader has been the all-abiding icon of justice and authority for generations. But in this surprising original graphic novel, we see Batman in a new light—as the savior who helps a discouraged man recover from a brutal attack that left him unable to face the world. In the 1990s, Eisner Award-winning writer Paul Dini had a flourishing career writing the hugely popular Batman: The Animated Series and Tiny Toon Adventures. Walking home one evening, he was jumped and viciously beaten within an inch of his life. His recovery process was arduous, hampered by the imagined antics of the villains he was writing for television including The Joker, Harley Quinn and the Penguin. But despite how bleak his circumstances were, or perhaps because of it, Dini also always imagined the Batman at his side during his darkest moments. DARK NIGHT: A TRUE BATMAN STORY is the harrowing and eloquent autobiographical tale of Dini’s courageous struggle to overcome a truly desperate situation. It is a Batman story like none other and one that will truly resonate with fans. Art by the incredibly talented Eduardo Risso (100 BULLETS, DARK KNIGHT III: THE MASTER RACE).
