DC Announces New Series Justice League United, Debuting in April

Last year we got word that the current Justice League of America title being published at DC Comics would become Justice League Canada for a brief stint with writer Jeff Lemire and artist Mike McKone. Now DC has announced that the series will no longer bear that title but instead will go by the name Justice League United and become its very own ongoing comic series. This April will see the end of “JLA” and the birth of Justice League United in a special zero issue introducing readers to the members of the new team and their primary locations, Canada and outer space.

“It keeps the book fresh when you have those two very different settings or landscapes to go between,” Lemire told USA Today“It’s very much a swashbuckling, world-jumping space adventure.”

The lineup for the team will include Stargirl, Martian Manhunter, Hawkman, Green Arrow, Animal Man, Supergirl, Adam Strange, and a new, wholly Canadian, superhero who Lemire says will be influenced by Canadian legends.

The zero issue of Justice League United hits this April, with issue one following in May. Will you be picking up the new series?
