Jimmy Fallon is SO~ much better than Conan O'Brien. Serioulsy, Conan can't tell a joke. He can't. The only thing funny about his show are the skits -- If They Mated, Celebrity Survey's, Conan's Photos, State Coins, Headlines, and, of course, Triumph The Insult Comic Dog. His show was funny and could get away with a lot at it's original 12:35 am slot, but now that it's an hour earlier, it has to tone down the nonsense. That is what killed O'Brien show.

Fallon on the other hand can tell funny, fast-paced jokes, has cool, funny skits and games on his show, has great interaction with celebs and gets scoops on things that are questions that only geeks like us and him would ask guests (i.e. Talking to Ryan Reynolds about his upcoming role as "The Green Lantern").

JIMMY FALLON ROCKS!

THE GREEN LANTERN ROCKS!

ROCKS ROCK!

Wow... settle down dude. I can't see it either, but no reason to go CRAZY :D

To the dude above, Jimmy Fallon is in no way better than Conan, or Carson Daily, or anyone. He has horrible timing, he always adds a stupid awkward pause after each joke. You can see him wait for the audience to laugh every time. He is horrible.

For those of you who don't know, this is from last night's (10-1-09) episode of Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. If you want to see the show again, they show reruns of Jimmy Fallon at 3 am one week after the original episode. Thus, to catch this show on TV again on 10-9-09 at 3am in the morning. NOTE THE DATE AND TIME. Thus, stay up all night on Thursday night and well into Friday morning and at 3 am on Friday morning you will see the rerun of this show on NBC. I hope that helps.

Anyways, I like how Reynold's explained everything about Green Lantern.

P.S. I just re-read my entire post and I wonder why the hell I wrote all of that. If you want to see this interview, just watch it again and again and again any time you want right here on this web page. Boy, am I stupid. Uh-doy-doy! *bashes angled wrist against sternum repeatedly*

great great great news!!!!!

@ This guy!

Yes, I'm serious. Fallon's show, the look, the feel, everything about it just seems so fun. I mean, the hour goes by really fast becuase you are having so much fun! Sometimes, I turn off the lights, and close my eyes and just listen to the audio of the show. I sit in an upright position and I pretend that I'm a part of the Jimmy Fallon audience! I feel like I'm watching the show in my mind! It works!!!

One time, I wanted to go to a MC Hammer concert, but the tickets were too expensive. I then turned on the radio, tuned into a Hammer song, looped the song, closed my eyes and pretended like I was there at the concert! I love concerts! I've been to seven hundred concerts in my life... in my mind, that is!!!!!!!!!

Fallon was one of the most unprofessional cast members SNL ever had always breaking the fourth wall in skits and has never been particularly funny

Posted by: Nathallion on October 3, 2009 at 07:11:28

Kind of excited for the green lantern and I hope they do what they said they were gonna do with deadpool and stay true to the comic...but if Ryan can tone down his humor a bit for his role as Hal Gordon I think it'll be a good movie. Why is every one fighting about Fallon and O'Brien that's not really what this news was supposed to be about...I mean what ever but it's kinda random and Shuffle Board is awesome!!!

I just hate the idea of casting him as GL. I mean base on his personality of sense of humor, he would be better play Deadpool or even Flash if they ever make one.
I thought Sam Wortington wld ve been better look as GL.

For those of us who live outside the USA and therefore can't watch anything on Hulu, could someone re-cap this news please?

Posted by: Shayera on October 3, 2009 at 09:15:37

I agree that he would have made a better Flash, but if I was in charge, and I had to choose between Sam Worthington and Ryan Reynolds, it would be a no-brainer. Worthington was TERRIBLE in Terminator Salvation, which, let's face it, is the only thing an American audience can really place him in.

I'm not really a fan of Hal Jordon however. Without having read too many of the GL comics, I've gotta say that my favorite is John Stewart... going by the Justice League and Justice League Unlimited cartoons. Heh, imagine if Phil LaMarr played the live-action John Stewart. Anyway, I'm not complaining about Hal... it would only work if they started with him... but I'm not too picky about who would play him.

Posted by: dentonst on October 3, 2009 at 09:25:41

I actually enjoy the casting of Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan. Hal is cocky, arrogant, has a self-deprecating sense of humor, a ladies man...but all in a likable way...something Mr. Reynolds can play. Hal also has a great heart...something else Mr. Reynolds has shown. I agree with Geoff Johns in that he is a good representation of the early Hal...with room for growth in future films. Also, if they ever were going to make a Flash film, it more than likely would be the Barry Allen version...and Ryan Reynolds does not fit Barry's personality. Just an observation...regardless, I am looking forward to both (GL and Deadpool) films!

Fallon is a terrible one liner comedian that's for sure. For instance, every joke he made only got a laugh when Ryan Reynolds backed him up. WTF? That's horrible. The guest gets more laughs than the star?

Posted by: Nightmare on October 3, 2009 at 10:37:18

Jimmy Fallon is terrible.

Posted by: mojojackson on October 3, 2009 at 10:48:41

Fallon's a schmuck. In a perfect world, he'd go no farther in the world of entertainment than operating the karaoke machine at the local VFW Monday nights. But apparently, his agent is George Burns in a red suit. His post-SNL status should be no greater than that of Rob Schneider, and the fact that Fallon appeared in Band Of Brothers makes me want to end it all.

Posted by: Doc Savage on October 3, 2009 at 11:55:04

I think Reynolds is a fine choice. He plays "witty" very well, and can emote. He is an actor, after all. He has a good superhero physique too.

GL in space? I can't wait!

Posted by: Wolverine_X on October 3, 2009 at 12:33:08

Worthington will be the next Hal Jordan for sure. I'm seeing the Reynlods GL movie going down down down with his performance. I hope i'm wrong.

As for Deadpool, i think Reynolds can do ok once but i still believe it will be a DVD movie blockbuster like Origin. The guy is good with swords (BLade, Deadpool), not with rings.

Wow Ryan is over killing super heroes deadpool, Green Lantern, and Hannibal King

Posted by: monkeyporn on October 3, 2009 at 12:55:41

Is it too ocnfusing for you? Do you get them mixed up?

Saying he can't play more than one comic hero is like saying Jackie Chan should only play one kung-fu role or that Stallone should only play Rocky but no Rambo.

Posted by: daniel clavette on October 3, 2009 at 13:39:49

ryan renolds is great actor and he was amazing on wolverine movies and he will be on green lantern, deadpool movies and i can,t wait to see them in theather .

jimmy fallon is a d!ck and cant tell a joke w/out laughing. he's just a tool. not funny.

Posted by: Deadpool on October 3, 2009 at 15:54:08

so ryan is playing me in my spinoff (which i'm hoping isnt going to continue from wolverine) i have good faith that my spinoff will entice and please everyone who was so pissed off about my appearance (and rape of character). chimachunga. sorry. favorite word. chimachunga. so long as they use one of my more elaborate story lines and give justice to the character. i'm thinking it should be a cross between punisher with lots of violence (but not b-flick style and aweful acting where i shoot 50 guys spinning on a chandalier) and rambo (minus the non-sensical verbage from stallone) also if ryan happens to over do the whole funny schtick he might out play it in GL and not leave enough space for me to shine. but then again i'm Marvel, GL is DC. no competition. even though GL has a kick ass ring that i could pawn off for a 5 piece unfried side of KFC and a liter of cola. car ramrod.

As much as I like Ryan Reynolds, I just don't think he is Hal Jordan. I can't see him being a constant serious guy.

In my eyes Ryan Reynolds is Guy Gardner that role is perfect for him.

Posted by: titan of tomorrow...today!?! on October 3, 2009 at 18:46:27

I'm getting used to the fact that Ryan will play Hal Jordan.I was originally routing for Chris Pine but since the decision was made I made peace with it.Now I am concerned that I still have not heard who will join Ryan in this movie. So here are my suggestions for the cast of the Green Lantern
1)Ryan Reynolds-Hal Jordan (I originally wanted Chris Pine)
2)Hugo Weaving- Sinestro(My second choice is Jason Isaacs)
3) Rachel Mcadams-Carol Ferris
4)Sean William Scott- Guy Gardner
5)Big Show Paul Wight (Wrestler)- Kilowog
6)David Dinklage-Ganthet
7)Katie Cassidy-Arisia
8)Common (rapper)- John Stewart
9)Ben Kingsley-Abin Sur
10)Doug Jones-Tomar re
Whadya think?
