Jackman Says Work on Wolverine 2 is Starting
August 10, 2009
Hugh Jackman talked to MTV and confirmed that Wolverine 2 will take place in Japan.
"Japan is where we're heading, [and] we're starting to work on it now. We're in the ... first steps of developing that story," Jackman said about adapting Frank Miller and Chris Claremont's story arc.
He added: "I think the fans love that saga. It's my favorite saga of the Wolverine stories."

Would this take place during the 6-year time gap from the first movie?

I like Jackman he is a great Wolverine. However the origins film started off promisng but hen fell short the first 1/2 of the movie was actually good, then once they met up with gambit and wen to the island it wen tdown hill from there.
If they make this film I hope they follow the source material to the "T". Look at watchmen it followed the story almost perfectly and what little liberties they took only made the film better.
C'mon Fox get it right this time.

my faith in Jackmen was shaken, as he was the executive producer on the last one. That may have been an honorary title, but i thought he wanted to bring more to the character, not dumb it down. We shall see where this goes.

yeah like many others my faith fell half-way through that first movie..
BRING THE RAGE!

I hope they have Silver Samurai and Lady Deathstrike as the villans and I wonder if Gambit will make an appearance as well? Deadpool would be a cool appearnce too.
I know lady D was in X2 but this could take place before she became a cyborg and ultimateley sought revenge over Wolverine.

IF ONLY it was the occasion to finally TRY that full feral costume/mask on Jackman ! Come on ! The Spider-Man suit worked, the Iron Man armor worked, there's a way to translate the masked Wolverine coolness on screen !

i just hate the fact that he had Adamantium Claws...and no blood? seriously...im the best at what i do...but what i do isn't very nice. the movie was all nice! it's not cool...wolverine is not nice! more rage and berserk!!!

I think Jackman really gives a sh**, and so did Gavin Hood. But most of the time, Fox ruins everything, even with people who had totally understood the characters they were adapting. When you think back to when Hood and Jackman were giving their vision of Wolverine, you could expect something really good and faithful to the comics. But, then, Fox comes with its only right: they're giving the money to make the project real.
And in the end...well, always about money, huh?

I don't mind Jackman as Wolverine. It wasn't his fault that last movie blew. It was mostly the crappy production of the whole film that sucked. Seems to me Fox is satisfied with running this franchise into the ground.

the first one blew chunks, and thats comin from a real wolverine fan, seriously, it sucked

It will be another BS super hero movie from fox with way too many charecters and way too much going on. People will get all excited by the trailer and enough idiots will go see it to the point fox will decide to make another one just like it...Thanks a lot...idiots.

They should've adapted Claremont's and Miller's story to begin with. Wolverine's origin story not only should have never been put onscreen, but it should never have been revealed in the comics at all.

i think the blame falls squarely on fox , its felt they just rushed this **** out to make a quick buck and didnt even give a rats ass about the movie , for god sakes remember how ****ty the cgi was ,i could make more believeable looking claws on microsoft paint

The first one may have fallen short of its potential but I didn't think it sucked. The problem was they were trying to take the comic book story, alter it in such a way that it fit with the movie's they'd already made and condense it enough to fit it into one movie. If only they'd known before that a second one was coming they could've stretched the plot across two movies and it would've been a lot better.
Be that as it may though...they've got the origin done so they pretty much have free rein to just do a cool action movie that happens to be set between the two franchises...even if you hated the last one this still has potential.

Ruin it up!

I was hoping that all of the rumors surrounding this film were just that - rumors. I love Hugh Jackman and the comic book Wolverine, but that movie ... ugh.
This one will definitely blow chunks.

Come on. Do you NEED another Wolverine based movie? He is nothing new and the last movie sucked. I'm glad I saw it alone so none of friends wasted their money, FOX, for the luv of god, PLEASE focus your attention on another movie. If you have read our comments, we really don't want you to make this movie. I believe Jackman is the PERFECT Wolverine, but the recent movies have done him NO justice.
