MySpace has revealed the eighth Video Journal for Watchmen featuring director Zack Snyder talking about why Malin Akerman and Carla Gugino kick ass in the March 6 release. You can watch the clip below, and all the previous Video Journals are still available here.

Those fight scenes look tight. That's a great style: she looks like a yellow tornado. This was an excellent journal. Does anyone know who the guy with the ping pong table is supposed to be?

Wow. I actually have room to comment.
:D
Good job Matty on a decent comment. Death to the first-person hacks.
As for the movie, I think it will be good, and several things that struck me:
Just how gorgeous both actresses are, how good a job their doing, and the immense amount of background material going into setting the newspapers and the photo-ops and all... this is a very plot-rich movie.
Hopefully with all the changes, it will still live up to the novel.

This movie is gonna rock.

YES

That was a very cool journal and Punchy McSlap I'm not quite sure who the ping pong guy is. If you stop the vid at 16 seconds you can see a blotless Rorschach because obviously they will add that in in post.

i noticed that almost everybody wants to do their own stunt after keanu reeves and laurence fishburne did theirs in the matrix movies...or maybe its just me liking the matrix movie too much...

this journal kick ass... yeah!
i like the girls
Posted by: sncfrk on November 6, 2008 at 11:28:50
she would have been a great mary jane! If she looked exactly the same but with red hair she would have been perfect for all 3 S-M movies. Her character even in watchmen is closer to how mary jane should have been than nasty, lazy looking, tired old kirsten dunst.
just makes me more sad to see such great potential

Incredible video Journal! That was really, really fun, informative, and awe-inspiring. I greatly look forward to the WATCHMEN movie, after recently reading the graphic novel. Wow... I had no idea it would be so good. This movie should be a lot of fun.
By the way... just to remind everyone of a few of my ideas to address what is wrong with the 'hero' movies, and what is oh-so-right:
1. We need some casting directors who understands that we're over-using the same African-American actors(i.e. Morgan Freeman, Samuel Jackson).
2. We need a total re-do of the Spider-Man franchise.
3. We need an 'In-&-Out Burger' in the Mid-West.
4. We desperately need some decent banter on the SUPERHEROHYPE Boards.
5. We would highly-enjoy someone to 're-start', 're-do', or basically just 're-vamp' the old "Different Strokes" television show. Perhaps they could cast Morgan Freeman and Samuel Jackson as Willis and Arnold?

now THIS looks promising, i havent read the comic and i am gonna wait until after i see tis movie. Just to go with a completly open mindset. And the main reazon i feel hopefull about this movie is because of the studio. WB has my respect after TDK, they do know how to respect comicbook characters, and even thou i dislike the superman returns movie, I still think the character and material were respected to an extent. FHUCK YOU FOX.

Old Sally Jupiter is not as old as in the GN.
CAN'T WAIT for this movie!!!
Posted by: hawikins on November 6, 2008 at 13:25:19
woah this looks insane
no gripes from anyone concerning how close to the source material it is, did you see the minute mens costumes! insane!
only one question remains - whos hotter silk spectre 1 or 2?
i'll ignore wolverine too, though that won't be hard after x-men 3...
Posted by: Gogolovesoren on November 6, 2008 at 13:37:42
i prefer silk spectre 1 for the movie.
She's gorgeous.
Will there be the Comedian's rape scene in the movie?

MySpace sucks so friggin' much! This video won't load and the comments on it from MySpace users make the SHH comments sections look like a sophisticated chat at tea time.

This was an awesome video journal! It was cool to see some more stuff from the movie besides all the rehashed trailer stuff.
This video has also proven that they did indeed fatten up Patrick Wilson.

I know--I post it in the Hype forums first :D
Posted by: BlackAadam on November 6, 2008 at 16:58:17
Am i the only one NOT loving the action sequences?
Posted by: Ancient Fanboy on November 6, 2008 at 17:15:02
The rape scene was a sexual assault that didn't go all the way. Hooded Justice intervened and stopped the Comedian.
But years later in 'Nam Dr. Manhattan stood by an allowed a woman to die by the Comedians' hands.
That panel showing her impending doom is horribly sad.
