I just heard about this ending change from a friend. I really had faith in the movie. Well, that flushed down the toilet really flipping quickly, didn't it?
Oh, and this wallpaper thing on the site, I already got it three weeks ago...really old news. You can see that this "squid" business has made me, well, a little...unhappy.

dont panic about the ending. even michael bay is smart enough to leak out false info on transformers 2. I think empire strikes back had three endings that they filmed nevermind false endings that were written. snyder has shown more talent in the first 15 min of dawn of the dead than all of bays films. so im pretty confident that he will make the ending right. allthough, i did hate the ending of 300. :/

what's squid?
Posted by: The One on November 3, 2008 at 11:33:35
To Joe Show. The squid is the huge psychic alien/genetic mess which happens at the end of the graphic novel. To Zack,if you do change it...make it count.

All you spoiler posters are f**kwits. Most of us have read the comic but some people havn't and might want to see the film without you guys spoiling the possible end. SHUT UP!
STOP GOING ON ABOUT THE END OF THE FILM!!!

Change/Don't change, Who cares? Bring the film out already! I want to see this masterpiece. They will have the regular ending in the directors cut DVD anyway. Four or four and half hours of epic. I can handle that.

STOP IT.

People are pretty upset about this ending. A non-permawhite Joker didn't upset almost anyone, though. How ironic.

Agree with Nuke, screw the squid, this doesn't ruin the film at all. In fact, it will probably improve, that ending sucks anyway.

squid or not, it will be a great film, i trust snyder more than any director (except nolan)to give us a masterpiece of a comic book film.
hey brian, if you don't want to read spoilers, fine, but don't read.

dude it could just be something to throw u off. I dunno how u can go straight from the graphic novel and not have the same ending. just relax folks, seriously
Posted by: grafdog on November 3, 2008 at 12:56:05
Why hello Mr Moore, glad you could come by. Here's a young fellow named "Jeff" he has a few ideas on how you could improve your "watchmen" funny book. Jeff, if you could tell Mr Moore about the sucky parts?

How did you guys hear about the SQUID not being in the movie?
Posted by: Gepeto on November 3, 2008 at 14:37:35
squid or better ending it doesnt matter
Posted by: LEO on November 3, 2008 at 14:47:47
jajaja what a bunch of bullsh**... the ending its whats makes WATCHMEN a solid masterpiece...I'm thinking a lot of you guys even din't know the graphic novel...if the ending its changed....the whole thing its going to be a lame movie, hollywood endings for stupid people
Posted by: Born With A Joker Grin on November 3, 2008 at 15:22:54
@ General Ross:
The reason why non-perma white Joker didn't bother anybody is because the original Joker was created as a psychotic mass murdering schizo who puts clown make-up on. The whole chemical toxic bath aspect appeared to give the Joker an origin story on the Killing Joke graphic novel (also used for Tim Burton's Joker).
As for the Watchmen, as long as they go with the overall THEME of his ending...then I'll still be fine with it. What does it matter any ways? Alan Moore will still call the movie "the Devil" even if it was word for word with the graphic novel...

You guys need to calm down. I appreciate that people are passionate about the subject matter, but the squid just would seem silly to most people, except diehard fan-boys(which I am one,but cant accept and even appreciate changes when something is moved from one media format to the next.) I embrace change as long as the story being told is still good, and aesthetically holds up to the soucre material.
Posted by: Gepeto on November 3, 2008 at 16:04:12
wasnt the squid kind of weird [for a film]........ i mean seriously ........if u think the film depends on the squid and not the REAL themes of the watchmen then there is something WRONG,now if u said RORSCHACH lives or rape scene or jfk/nixon incident was cut then maybe you can talk that trash....
