MTV reports that Rambo and Resident Evil: Extinction star Matthew Marsden has joined the cast of Michael Bay's Transformers 2.

He's joining a cast that includes Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, John Turturro, Isabel Lucas and Rainn Wilson.

Marsden is set to play Graham, a character who is part of the British Special Forces and will join Duhamel's Captain Lennox and Tyrese's Sergeant Epps in battling the Decepticons.

Filming started on Monday in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. The sequel hits theaters on June 26, 2009.

Cool, I guess. Saw Rambo Last night, and school boy was pretty chill.

Still know nothing about the idea of humans, but, whatever.

tl;dr.

Lets start hearing about voice actors, eh? That way we can get an idea about what our bots sound like.

I haven't seen either of those movies, but the fact that he is British Special Forces is interesting. So is this going to be more of a global story than the first one? Could be more interesting if it is, but it could also stretch things too far.

And we of course have to keep in mind that Bay might have included some misinformation about what part this guy is playing.

This is cool. The actors will be fighting Decepticons. Thats what I read. Now I know there will be plenty of Robot action. I'm also glad The Decepticons will be getting more action. Must be an important scene if this is one of the first filming projects for TF2.

Still don't know why they are wasting money on new actors, save the money for the C.G.I.!

I'm ok with the news but I'd like to hear more about the story, like the fact that I heard there's supposed to be two factions of decepticons, soundwave leading one to bring back megatron.

I've never seen so many bad ideas! eat it nerds!

Posted by: kevlar on June 3, 2008 at 03:36:59

hopefully in transformers 2 they will fix the CGI so that we can actually tell what is going on when the robots are fighting, the first was still a good movie (interesting plot, good acting, pretty good character development), except the jumbled robot fights and overly stereotypical Jazz (shouldnt he have been a Porshe instead of a Pontiac anway). also why does the black guy have to be the first and only to die?

Posted by: The Boss! on June 3, 2008 at 04:12:39

Well go hell "bam bam murphy".(look about one or two comments above, you'll see his name.)
But yeah, Transformers 2 ,It'll be good, can't wait!

Posted by: The Boss! on June 3, 2008 at 04:18:43

Sorry, I meant, Go to hell "bam bam murphy".(see comment just above this one.) But still Transformers 2 is gonna be a good movie!

Darn it...when I saw the headline/link to this on ComingSoon!, I was hoping the Marsden was James Marsden from X-Men and Enchanted. He'd fit perfectly in the cast. He could be a brother to Josh Duhamel's character or something. THAT would've been a good decision.

I'm not saying that the movie will suck or anything, but shouldn't it be about AUTOBOTS fighting Decepticons, instead of humans fighting Decepticons?

I found the first movie enjoyable, but not great, mainly because the robot designs were too confusing during the fast-cut action scenes, and because it was too much about the humans.

I can understand that for a first movie, to give the audience a feeling of how it would be like for us if giant robots came to Earth, first cotact ad all that, but a second movie should be about developing the robots' characters, letting us know them better.

The Transformers made me like Transformers, not the humans.

Anyway, I hope the second movie improves on this, and if so, the more I will be willing to watch it in theatres.

I just wanna know who the villain is.. I mean will they bring Megatron back or use someone else.

What's wrong with you guys? This is the 21st Century! Haven't your adjusted to quick visuals yet? If it hasn't, you guys need to watch some serious anime. They made it realistic, you need to be quick!

I listen to some of your comments and find them to either be hilarious or completely idiotic. First off, even in the cartoons there have always been a human element. You cant have the Transformers on earth and not have humans in the mix. The first movie was a great introduction to world that is transformers. ..and what is a movie with out character developement. Orci and Kurtzman are talented writers and I don't know how anyone can say other wise. Look at their track record. as for micheal Bay...He is one of the best action directors in hollywood. I agree with the Jazz thing..a little steroetypical and for him to be the one that died (so to speak, since I hear he will back for 2). But we dont even know what the plot is and people are *****ing. I wont even mention the Mathew broderick comment..wtf. I have an idea, why don't we wait and see what the talents that be put together before we start trashing it. I admit there are a few kinks to work out, but its the beginning of a brilliant franchise. All im saying is lets give them a chance to make their movie and as we learn certain things about it either praise those decissions or curse them.

Posted by: ted on June 3, 2008 at 10:13:00

I like the fact that some people dont realise that Jazz was MEANT to sound like a stereotypical black guy, he learned to talk from the internet and tv. It was a litttle bit of a joke on the writers part that i think went overs ome peopels over-senstive head.

BTW some of the other charcters nameley, Road Block were voiced by black actors....

Posted by: mase28 on June 3, 2008 at 10:31:53

true, Jazz was voiced by the actor that played eddie on family matters. and yes, if they are learning from tv and the internet, how could they miss the hip hop nation... i guess with a name like Jazz, what would we expect...I could get by that.

Posted by: hypestyle on June 3, 2008 at 10:32:12

Jazz is coming back? that's got to be a fakeout.. or a flashback...

i want to see:
Blaster

Posted by: nerdkicker on June 3, 2008 at 10:52:39

Transformers only ever had one villain the GREAT and SCARY Megatron......Who gives a crap about one villain for a whole THREE Movies! I don't count Unicron regardless of how cool that COULD be.

Posted by: Brand-O on June 3, 2008 at 10:55:18

Was Matthew Marsden the foul-mouthed, obnoxious British guy in "Rambo"?
