The Trailer for Whiteout!

IGN has debuted the new trailer for the R-rated Warner Bros. thriller Whiteout, starring Kate Beckinsale, Gabriel Macht, Columbus Short, Alex O'Loughlin, Shawn Doyle and Tom Skerritt.
Directed by Dominic Sena, the graphic novel adaptation hits theaters on September 11. In the film, Beckinsale plays Carrie Stetko, the lone U.S. Marshal assigned to Antarctica, who is investigating the continent's first murder, which draws her into a shocking mystery. Now, with only three days until winter, Carrie must solve the crime before Antarctica is plunged into darkness and she is stranded with the killer.

i thought this was going to be a much more quiet thriller. oh well, looks like it should still be worth a peak. esp with lady beckinsale putting her pretty face up on the screen.

i don't want to sit through 2+ hours of looking at barren landscape, and the part where she falls through the snow is super fake

Cmon you know that bit where KB is showering was HOT !. Also I think this movie looks pretty awesome especially the CGI and visuals. There are some kickass money shots in that trailer.

Hey - Buttnaked Avenger - maybe the bad guys who are the reason the cops had to be there in the first place? Instead of making stupid comments when seeing stuff out of context why don't you use your noggin to write something constructive.
As for the guy who said falling through the snow looks super fake - how the hell is it supposed to look? Have you seen someone fall through snow or something like that? It looks the same to me. Morons. Same with the guy who said he doesn't want to sit through two plus hours of barren landscapes. WTF? Is there any indication at all that that's going to happen? Hell, no. What are you talking about? And that's the only comment you leave? To tell us that you don't want to do something that's not going to happen anyway. You are the biggest moron of all.

cmon, you have to admit that all the trailer showed was an endless amount of snow that didn't look too thrilling. sounds like and interesting idea though, first murder on antarctica and what not.

I feel like you're trying to get back at me for the time I told you to lighten up and everybody sided with me and sort of took you down a notch. It was on the thread about the book about prehistoric birds and an amusement park where you got all upset about me saying it sounded very similar to Jurassic Park.
You need to relax with the lashing out. I see alot of people always trying to calm you down. All you seem to do is yell and pout without, ironically enough, anything constructive to say. You're just a little too self-righteous. And this is coming from a guy who gets pretty flustered with most of the comments on these boards.

1st minute's a bit generic with the movie guy talking in the back, some cool scenes like with the cargo flying around in the plane, won't go to see it just cause kate B. is in the shower though

Looks like it could be good. But am I the only one who hates it when they have a narrative voice over telling us the same thing they are printing for us to read at the same time? It's redundant and sort of insulting in that they think we can't read very well. Just have one or the other, not BOTH.

I totally forgot about that. I wasn't trying to go for retribution. All I'm saying is that a lot of people on here make comments and take it out of context and without knowing anything further. If you actually read the comments I usually attack they are a lot more asinine than anything I say. I don't shoot down or b*tch about a movie without knowing the facts or I don't make up facts or talk about things I know nothing about - whether based on fact or not. (ex. Remember all the people who were hating on the new Friday the 13th and were like "Jason doesn't own a weed field?) Those are the people I "argue" with.
As far as this movie goes we don't even know the story points except for the basics and you ask "Who takes a machine gun to the Artic?" or whatever. Maybe the villains do. Maybe they're standard issue for whatever reason - to take out polar bears or something. Who knows? But to me a question like that is asinine. Have you ever been to the Artic? How do you know they don't in real life? They had a hell of a lot of guns in The Thing but do you question that?
All I ask is for people to think outside of the box...use their noggins. And to tell you the truth a lot of people agree with me. I don't see hardly anybody but the people I attack try to take me down a notch. Go look at the Shocktillyoudrop boards and see how many people always agree with me. I think I make good points. Great points.
As for the space in your name I only did it that way because it is two capitalized words and you can't have space, really, on other sites and I thought that was the reason you put the words together. What does Butnaked even mean? Are you talking about...I like it but...? Or butt as in ass? Because the latter has two Ts in it. And my mind just automatically spelt it correctly used in the context along with naked.

i do agree with you to a point. for instance, everybody's whining about Whiplash's armor. Everybody screams out "trust in Favs!", then sees that picture and goes off moaning and pissin g and saying they're "not so sure about this". But at the same time, I think you jump the gun a bit and maybe go too far with your insults sometimes. you want people to be constructive in their criticisms and then bail on your whole ideal by calling them morons. As one of the little dudes in Green Lantern: First flight says to Sinestro, (awesome movie!.. and I'm paraphrasing) "you don't save an ideal by abandoning it". If you step back and look at my statement (and sure, tones and things get lost in translation) I was just pointing out how odd the gun looked in that environment. As for the guns being standard issue.. not a chance. Sorry mate, but they don't give scientists or US marshals assault rifles in the arctic. Nor do bears live there. If i'm not mistaken, the only land dwelling animals that can be found there are penguins.
As for my name, ButnakedAvenger is a superhero i made up while in the shower something like 10 years ago. I then turned it into my AIM screen name, and because of letter and symbol limits, I had to spell it with one 'T', so your reasoning was pretty sound. That's just the way I've spelled it ever since.
So really, I get ya. I understand the frustration. But I feel like all of the trouble with these boards is exasperated when somebody lashes out. I'd just like to see more constructive thoughts about the movies I love/ will probably end up loving (i just really, really enjoy watching movies, good or bad).
now if you'll excuse me, I have tropical mashed potatoes to make.

Dude, finally this damn film is coming out. It seems like they had this on the shelf for a while. From what I remember, this film was supposed to come out last year, or the year before, or something like that. Oh well, finally this film is about to come out. Can you say "long gestating project"? Well, if you can good, because I can't. *cries*
