Looks like the comic, and from what I've heard it's good so thumbs up*

It's funny how the first people to slam this know absolutely nothing about 'Kick Ass'. Do your ignorant nature a favor and get experienced! This looks awesome. I hope that Vaughn is able to find a distributor if he hasn't already! I'm dying to see this and its hell waiting for the issues but they're worth the wait! I love the violence! Millar and Romita JR. are a great team!

Looks great - I still wonder what X3 would have been like with Matthew Vaughn at the helm.

Posted by: Klutch on July 17, 2009 at 20:06:08

@bruce

I'll tell you what X3 would be like with Vaughn on board, it would be like the first two, pointless mutant cameos, Hugh Jackman's Wolverine over exposed and a villain sitting peacefully while another guy's doing his job !

Yeah, even compared to the comic, those images look kinda stupid. Initials on belts? Faux-goth? Nick Cage in body armor? Kinda blah.

Posted by: seebeeay on July 17, 2009 at 22:34:26

lookin a little pudgy, a little wannabeish

WTF...Millar was quoted saying this movie follows the comic book 110%....as far as I can tell...he was full of it...Lets hope this images is not MOVIE accurate. Why Millar...WHY!? :(

This movie looks 100% awesome no no it looks JAW-SOME!!!!!!!

Posted by: higherstatesofconsiousness on July 18, 2009 at 13:22:56

I'm actually looking forward to this movie more than any other on the immediate horizon. People are saying "looks lame" and "stupid costumes" but that fits into the concept of the movie. The main character is a Marvel comics geek who makes a homemade costume. The other characters all are pretty much the same way. it's meant to turn the superheros genre on its head. a high school geek who puts on a costume, a real life grown man with a murderous kid side kick, Real world superheros, lame costumes, guys in homemade outfits getting the **** kicked out of themselves. This is not Ironman, Superman or Batman. This is what would happen if people really went out there and decided to kick-ass and then getting into deep s**t!

sounds like a lot of you never read the damn comic!

Here, Here!!!
(That's an old-English way of saying, "I Agree with @notyouraverageSHHposter")

The costume people in the movie biz always tweak the costumes, sometimes a little, sometimes a lot: get over it. I'm optimistic, but after watching Millar's "Wanted," I was a bit disapointed by the low-budget look/feel to the movie and bad CGI. Hopefully the production companies and studios involved are not the same as on "Wanted." Kick-Ass will ... kick ass, me thinks

Why did they change the look of Big Daddy his daughter, and Red Mist? This is pathetic! They look so much better in the comics. UGH! Losing hope... Just like how many have lost hope in my "films" such as "Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen."

@ Not your AVERAGE SHH poster

If the people you are addressing are not comic book fans, then how can they -- as you so eloquently put it -- climb out of their mother's basement? I mean, those who live in their mother's basement are comic book fans. Non-comic book fans don't live in their mother's basement. So you just contradicted your own comment.

@ Not your AVERAGE SHH poster

I love you.
I take it you read comics right?
I agree with you on every level of your statement. Especially about the Dark Knight, and I would like to add if people read comics then they would see that the Dark Knight is not the 'end all be all' of all superhero movies ever, and they wouldn't put it on a pedastool that it doesn't belong on.

Posted by: TheOtherKyle on July 18, 2009 at 17:04:20

Though I agree with dumb posts being...well, dumb, last I checked SHH is free and anyone can leave a comment. People have the right to say whatever the hell they want.

Sometimes it's just as aggravating having to sift through the angry posts made about "staying off the boards" and "not posting anymore stupid comments." Guess what? Your angry post is not going to deter trolls...actually, it won't deter anyone from making a comment, really. You'll end up pissing them off and having them post again. If it really upsets you, maybe you should take a break and go for a walk.

once Nic cage in it i'll watch it

Posted by: Honest Fan on July 19, 2009 at 00:17:42

@Michael Bay
Uh... not every comic book reader still lives in their mom's basement. You are not a smart man Forest. And by the way, read @notyouraverage...'s post again - because he's absolutely right about everything! Many people do only post to see their comments on the world wide web, and they have nothing quality or important to say about the article or movie in question. That is frustrating... for us 'honest fans'.
Yes, of course it's a free world @TheOtherKyle - your insight is absolutely genius and beyond obvious! Try taking your own advice now. Good night.

well costumes look pretty accurate, at least for two of them. hope its good, its millar after all.

Posted by: Jon on July 19, 2009 at 02:31:19

not gonna translate to film, looks crappy and low budget, maybe thats what they are going for but the doofus driving the car looks extra lame

Posted by: Post Human on July 19, 2009 at 02:34:55

I'm checking it out

Posted by: Nico on July 19, 2009 at 07:26:09

Kick-ass doesn't "turn the superhero genre on its head" at all. Its less realistic than the Ultimates. While the first two issues were somewhat believable, it completely suspends disbelief after that, as fountains of blood burst out of characters and little girls become able to cut through skulls with swords easily. Women flash little boys (and are as shallow as in evert other comic) and the protagonist is code-named an adjective.

I couldn't be more unimpressed.

Wow, was I dissappointed.
