Holt McCallany Joins Losers Cast

The Hollywood Reporter says that veteran actor Holt McCallany will star in Silver Pictures' The Losers, which Warner Bros. is distributing.

Sylvain White is directing the action film, which is adapted from the well-known DC Comics/Vertigo property. The contemporary-set tale revolves around a group of Black Ops forces who, after being betrayed by their handler, regroup to seek revenge and conduct operations against the CIA.

McCallany will play Wade, a special-forces officer who has left the group.

Well... I can't find much about the actor or his character. Other than Wade is a sychotic mercenary in the employ of Paradigm Security, another Goliath subsidiary. Involved in the Santa Maria massacre witnessed by the Losers in Colombia. Also McCallay played some guy named Ricky in Heroes - an Irish mobster, first appearing in the season premiere while searching for a shipping container with his partners Tuko and Will. They believed it to contain iPods, but instead found a half-naked Peter Petrelli handcuffed inside the empty container. Subsequently, Peter became both Ricky's prisoner and part of his team, including a romantic liaison with Ricky's sister Caitlin. Ricky was murdered by Elle after refusing to tell her where to find Peter.

Also, I thought I'd tell you the plot of 'The Losers' for those who don't know (i.e ME :D)
The Losers' reimagining was set against events surrounding and including the War on Terror. Originally a Special Forces team seconded to the Central Intelligence Agency. in the 90s, the Losers were betrayed by their handler, Max, and left for dead following the conclusion of their operation. Eager for revenge and the opportunity to remove their names from a secret CIA death list, the Losers regroup and conduct covert operations against the CIA and its interests, uncovering startling operations spearheaded by the enigmatic Max, whose influence within the CIA and U.S. government is unparalleled.

Sounds pretty awesum!

Oh! Also found out Wade only appears in 5 issues (#2, 3, 4, 5 & 6) out of the 32 published. The issues he's in is a 5 part story called 'Goliath', who I've found out is the name of "a multinational conglomerate with fingers in oil and mercenary pies".
Aren't I smart?

Its not shown up there but he also did a great guest stint on Criminal Minds where he plays this vet who rampaging through the city, thinking he's still in Mogadishu.

Glad to see him on the big screen.

Dean - The film is based on a DC/Vertigo comic book series. That's why it's here.

He is also the lead in the new FX pilot "Lights Out"....FX is going to pick it up when they can find out when Holt finishes "The Losers"....
The show is supposed to be pretty hot....He plays a boxer who starts collecting for the mob, it is supposed to have all the edginess and grittyness that is associated with FX.
