UPDATE: Kick-Ass Movie Book Already On Sale
Source:Amazon.com
June 6, 2009

UPDATE: Publisher Titan Books has informed us that the release date for this title has been moved - it won't be released on September 22nd.

No release date or distributor has been announced yet for the film, but a "Movie Book" for director Matthew Vaughn's Kick-Ass is already on sale at Amazon.com. Here's how the book, hitting stores on September 22, is described:

"Kick-Ass", the bestselling comic book series by Mark Millar (writer of the graphic novel "Wanted", which became a smash-hit movie) and artist John Romita Jr., is now an eagerly awaited film, and this is the essential companion book! What would happen if you tried to be a superhero? What would happen when an ordinary kid in a spandex costume comes face-to-face with the criminal underworld? Comic book fan and high school student Dave Lizewski, aka the self-styled vigilante Kick-Ass, is about to find out...and it's going to get really, really violent! With Mark Millar as your guide, "Kick-Ass: The Movie Book" gives you the lowdown on the making of the film, with eye-popping art from the original comics, script extracts and hundreds of movie photos! It is suitable for adults only.

The action-adventure stars Nicolas Cage, Aaron Johnson, Lyndsy Fonseca, Mark Strong, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Chloe Moretz.

I'm LOVING the comic but this is just insane. The movie's being filmed before the comics are even finished coming out, and now the book ABOUT the unreleased movie which is about the unfinished comic is being released??

Yeah imdaly thats kinda stupid now the books have to end the way the movie does, or they set it up so its gonna be a part two.

BRING IT ON!!!

This is making me hate Milar even more. He just seems to be a money whore. I stopped reading the comic because it just seems to be taking a back seat to the movie and all his other comics now that he got the movie deal.

I won't be paying to see this movie.

HEY! Does anyone know how long the comic is going to last? I already have the first five issues. Is it going to be a six-issue miniseries, or longer? Any plans to make it an ongoing series? Thanks.

When is the trailer coming out????

Posted by: Roffstafarian on June 8, 2009 at 00:27:54

Well, I guess that means we should be getting a trailer soon and that the film will be coming out in late September or early to mid October..........but that's just me.

Hey, is this book why ALL of Marc Millar's books are late? Maybe the Kick-Ass comic would ship on time if Millar wasn't writing this crap. And what happened to all those other monthly books, like War Heroes and Old Man Logan? The things people spend money on? Well, I guess he'd rather be writing the book-of-the-movie.

Marc Millar really treats his fans like dirt. Did you know that if you buy a trade with a misprint, Millar says its your fault for not buying the single issues?

I've never spent money on Millar since Ultimates #5 was several months late. He wants to get paid like a professional, he can meet deadlines like a professional. Otherwise he's just another hack.

Right on target, Toastjammer.

(YOU GOT THAT, MILLAR?? Ya spoiled it all!)

To answer senorashish's questions...it's suppose to be just an eight issue series and six issues have released(sonorashish-check with your local comic book shop to get issue six). I know this just because the marvel previews is soliciting the hardcover with eight issues for July. I'll be shocked if the last two issues come out by July and than the harcover is released by the end of that month.
