Aang without his trademark Bright Blue tattoo's (sporting some other not as good tattoo's, the tattoo's are suppost to symbolize his mastering Air bending... and Zuko without his trademark facial scar...which is suppost to symbolize his banishment...so far this is not good...

Surprisingly not bad, hoping that is the scence where Zuko gets his scar.
btw FIRST!!!!!

I can't wait for this movie... I'm a veryyyy casual fan of the series... but, I loved the story and characters... and I can't wait for a live action take on it... it has great potential...

Cool I just wish Hollywood wasn't so damn rasict and actually cast according to race sometimes.

WHAT A TWIST!

hahaha wow. A first look. Two pictures. That was all it took for somebody to say "this is not good". Dude, get over it. I do my fair share of hating on the Spider-Man franchise because I feel like they ruined their chance to translate a great character to the screen... but his tattoo isn't blue? That's just nitpicking.
I'm sure their's something going on with the mark that makes sense. Relax everybody, at least until some trailers hit.
I think the kid looks great in the role.

i see a faint scar on Zuko's face, my guess is theyll touch it up with effects, and aangs tattoo makes more sense then having a big blue arrow taped across his head. As long as it glows im happy

I thought this was supposed to be a revolution in motion capture and digital 3D.
is it?
Posted by: gabetron on May 22, 2009 at 03:14:18
yeah they definitely could have ****ed up worse, idk why you would complain about his tattoo not being blue, at least he looks around the same age unlike the dragonball movie where goku is a teenager when he is supposed to be a little kid. i think dumb people just like to b**ch a lot so they point out the most pointless things

I see a blue streak from the top of his head going down to his forehead. Relax, they are merely giving the character more physical depth than a super simplistic blue arrow. I hated that blue arrow anyway.

I am a huge Avatar fan, and if M. Night screws this up he will never redeem himself from his horrible movies. I don't see how this movie could be better then the show, but it has potential...what he does with it is up to him. The picures...hard to tell what to think of it. The casting...might work, we will see.

I do not like his movies. BUT, I think he will make this movie great. M Night's greatest problem is he designs movies around twists. He obsesses around TWISTS so much that he gets lost on how to make the movie enjoyable. I do not think that will happen with this film. He is capable of greatness. And this from a guy who hates to see majority of his films.

The Last Airbender twist...at the end aang realizes he was suppose to be a female...the long journey about dealing with your sexuality. No, I see M. Night like this, he wrote all these story ideas out, and made the first one first...and it was AWESOME...then the second greatest second...and so one, but near the end he started making the stories that really weren't that great to begin with... The thing about Avatar is...it has an amazing story!!! So, all M. Night has to do is not screw it up.

I dunno, can it be any worse than Street Fighter 2 or Dragonball? But since it's being done my Shyamalan, can it be any better? I would not want my own money invested in the production of this, that's for sure.

It's hard to tell from these pictures...how the movie will turn out, but I must say they look a hell of a lot better then Dragonball or Streetfight 2....and Avatar on it's worse day should beat out those films.

I always thought the characters were oriental. Maybe I'm wrong. It looks kinda weird with all the white guys dressed up in oriental clothing. Anyway, I hope the movie is good, can't wait!
Posted by: Wait! on May 22, 2009 at 05:57:18
Wait! Weren't all the show's characters Asian? Since when white Kung Fu monks become the norm?
People say there isn't roles for minorities in Hollywood. That's because racist pricks change all roles into white roles. Sick.

I hope it bombs and it will.

Live action Zim? Thats stupid. Now a full length theatrical animated Zim movie reuniting all the voice actors and design and writing teams and make the thing a hard PG-13 and now we're talking

Are there enough fans of this cartoon to even matter if Shyamalan messes it up?
Posted by: Shut up people on May 22, 2009 at 06:55:03
Why are people complaining about the characters being portrayed as white and not Asian actors when the cartoon characters have huge freaking eyes and light features? What Asian people look like that anyway? Even the tan ones resemble Africans more than Asians.
