First Look at Surrogates
Source:ComingSoon.net
December 17, 2008

ComingSoon.net has posted Walt Disney Pictures' 2009 Preview, and included is this first photo from Surrogates, based on the graphic novel and opening Sept. 25. In the film, FBI agents (Bruce Willis and Radha Mitchell) investigate the mysterious murder of a college student linked to the man who helped create a high-tech surrogate phenomenon that allows people to purchase unflawed robotic versions of themselves—fit, good looking remotely controlled machines that ultimately assume their life roles—enabling people to experience life vicariously from the comfort and safety of their own homes. The murder spawns a quest for answers: in a world of masks, who's real and who can you trust?

You can check out a higher-res version of the photo by clicking it below, and for the full 2009 preview, go here.

Really, really looking forward to this. I bought the comic when it came out, before they released it in graphic novel format...one of my favorites from that year. The sequel graphic novel should be out early '09, I think.

Interesting but . . . Disney?

Weird stuff.

But I thought Bruce Willis was done making movies after the last Die Hard.

Wasn't he going to by an island and retire there? Like Gilligan.

Yeah, what Dan C. said.

Anyway, if I. Robot and Blade Runner knocked boots, this is what the baby would look like.

The concept behind the graphic novel was great. I still haven't read it, but liked the idea a lot. I think this could be a decent Sci-Fi movie. Like others ask, why Disney? Is this a different area they're venturing into concerning movies? I still think it will be decent.

DISNEY?!?!?!?!

Posted by: lou-bert vs. q-bert on December 17, 2008 at 18:14:05

who created The SUrrogates? And why should I care that it's yet another sh-tty Bruce Willis movie?

Posted by: GK1 on December 17, 2008 at 18:45:14

wait... DISNEY?

Posted by: TonyBoy on December 17, 2008 at 19:42:56

WTF!? Disney?!

Wow I am so in love with Radha Mitchell. She's has such a great look.

Am I seeing that the story line is the depiction of people actually becoming lazy and fat in their homes, while they control robots of themselves to go to work or run errands? Why would someone want a robot to experience their life? Story line seems far fetched.

WOW! Bruce Willis has some serious gaming skills. Look at his setup.

Posted by: GammaBob on December 17, 2008 at 23:39:02

My man Bruce! I have no idea what this is about and have never heard of the graphic novel but.......My man Bruce!! I wish he was in The Expendables with Stallone! Now THAT would be a badass combo.

Mickey Mouse should really make a come back as TDK

Wow, I'm SO impressed...

At least Bruce Willis sells the part of old/bald man who needs a surrogate body to stay with the (future) times. But he needs a gut, for sh**'s sake

Disney has been making retty good live action movies lately. And I just love the premise of this movie. It starts as wow and myspace and ends up with that 'surrogate' thing. Go out and enjoy life so Bruce Willis doesn't have to save our ass on the future

To all those people who keep saying, "DISNEY'S DOING THIS?", let me clear things up. This movie is for Touchstone Pictures, which is a Walt Disney Studios division. So, it's like [adult swim] is to Cartoon Network.

No doubt you've already figured this out. So don't butcher me with your petty insults!

Wow. I wonder if Bruce Willis turns out to be a robot in the end of the new movie! The suspense is just- zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
