Just Jared has posted the first photos of Robert Downey Jr. and director Guy Ritchie on the set of Warner Bros. Pictures' Sherlock Holmes. They were filming scenes in Central London on Friday.

In the film, Downey Jr. brings the legendary detective to life as he has never been portrayed before. Jude Law stars as Holmes' trusted colleague, Watson, a doctor and war veteran who is a formidable ally for Sherlock Holmes. Rachel McAdams stars as Irene Adler, the only woman ever to have bested Holmes and who has maintained a tempestuous relationship with the detective. Mark Strong stars as their mysterious new adversary, Blackwood. Kelly Reilly will play Watson's love interest, Mary.

RDJ is 2 for 2 with Iron Man and Tropic THunder. I'll give this a shot, might be fun. If Guy Richie is back on his game that is.

But you are right ODIN, with those clothes I can see him waddle down the street LOL

Sherlock Holmes in the books was always going undercover, dressing like a beggar in one story, a priest in another. He was always doing that.

For anyone whose actually read Sherlock Holmes stories, this image would make a lot of sense. Sherlock was constantly putting on disguises. This disguise looks very similar to the one he wore in "Scandal in Bohemia", and he was wearing it when he met Irene Adler. Considering she is in the film, I wouldn't be surprised if that story is referenced.

Im the dude playing the dude disguised as another dude

Posted by: Lighthouse on October 10, 2008 at 19:03:36

Maybe, but that doesn't matter that much. Jeremy Brett wasn't blonde.
