No Hill in Transformers 2
Source:Entertainment Weekly
May 7, 2008

Entertainment Weekly says that Transformers 2 negotiations betweeen Jonah Hill and DreamWorks have broken down, and the Superbad star is no longer expected play a sidekick to Shia LaBeouf in the upcoming sequel from director Michael Bay.

Word is that he will, however, appear in a cameo role in Ben Stiller's "Night at the Museum 2" for director Shawn Levy.

Thank Christ.

good news in my book. He's a funny guy sometimes... but I'm confused about the need for comic relief. I thought that was Shia's job...

anyways, first. Come and get it suckas.

bit*h, haha

but my sentiments exactly.

Posted by: Jesse on May 7, 2008 at 03:09:49

He's alright but like ButnakedAvenger said Shia is the comic relief. And i think he wouldve added the wrong kind of humor for these movies.

Just the fact that they're looking to cast a side-kick for Even Stevens is clear indication of what this movie will be. Again, it won't be about the actual robots but instead about American heroes.

SIGH WHAT A RELIEF!

Posted by: kLee on May 7, 2008 at 03:39:13

I'm kind of sick of Jonah Hill....He plays the same character in just about every film he's in

Posted by: Harish on May 7, 2008 at 03:56:01

Shia is hardly comic relief, in my opinion he was pretty rubbish. Good at parts, but generally rubbish. Hill would've been kinda cool. I just think the screenwriters need to be replaced. Sure, Transformers is about action. But c'mon... give us SOME dialogue worth listening. I felt like head butting the seat in front of me (at the cinema) the last time round almost every time if was just the humans talking. I don't expect articulate speaking, but Lord almighty, don't let them be retarded or forced. In my opinion.

They should just have that fat guy who screams "OMG, THIS IS LIKE TEN TIMES COOLER THAN ARMAGEDDON!!!" take the role. Would be natural progression. I guess.

Posted by: shockquake on May 7, 2008 at 04:35:43

I don't know if this is a fake or not but if it's true, I told you guys so. I had posted on another thread like this and I said the comedy should be kept at a minimum and not in every scene. This movie is serious and big to have someone come in and make it into a comedy. This is about the Autobots and the Decepticons fighting each other. Hence the title "Transformers".

Posted by: Seany-Wan on May 7, 2008 at 07:01:59

I'm glad he is not in it. Not that Jonah is not funny, but it would be stunt casting or "flavor of the month" casting. As Spielberg said "Tell the story..."

Posted by: Shaan on May 7, 2008 at 07:13:23

Ugh... even without this guy, you just know Michael Bay is going to waste half of the movie adding more and more useless characters, including a fat black guy who's so ridiculous but honestly does nothing that no other character could have done.

Michael Bay, how about DEVELOPING your characters. I swear to god, almost no one even knew the names of the other Transformers in that movie, much less cared about any of them. You barely knew any of them. DEVELOP YOUR DAMN CHARACTERS!

Good, Hill is a ****ing ashole anyway. **** him. Now he can go back to being a loser and continue making bad movies that bomb.

As I posted on the news that they were considering hiring this dip$h!t: he can't act and would have made the second movie absolutely terrible.

im pretty sure superbad made over 200mil.

but still, i agree that this hill guy doesnt belong in this movie.

Thank you Jeebus! Jonah Hill totally blows monkey @$$! I refuse to watch him in anything he does since his horrible "acting" in Knocked Up. Please leave out this idea of fat sidekick for Shia. Just leave in Megan Fox for the sidekick role.

Thank god. After hearing his pathetic excuse for a country accent in strange wilderness I was completly turned off by him and realized how horibble of an acter he really his

to whom said that, why would it matter if he was in it knowing all you guys the movie would just be "terriable" anyways.

the majority of you guys are some of the ****ing biggiest idoits i have ever met in my life. you guys complain, complain and complain. you should be thankful that their even making a god damn movie.

personally, i liked the first movie. i'm excited for the second one. i wanted to see robots kick the **** out of each other and that's exactly what i got.

to the person that said that transformers needs to be more dark, your an absolute moron. i never really watched transformers, but i do know your a moron. you say that a two year old shouldn't be able to understand it. are you a ****ing joke? you say it should be more like the dark knight? go suck a ****, that makes no sense. i'm sure that the movie studios will make it so that even comic book nerds will take their two year old son to go see the dark knight, so that way their two year old son will collect comic books; and i'm sure the movie studio will also make Bay have it so kids that will have no idea what the movies about go see it.

90% of you guys are some of the biggest idoits have ever met. its a ****ing movie. its not going to be exactly like the orginal t.v. show. its not going to be exactly like the comics, that goes for movie adaptions from comic books. you should be happy that their at least getting made. i mean yeahh critize a little bit if the movie wasn't perfect, but don't tear it apart.

Posted by: Elliott on May 7, 2008 at 08:40:51

one last thing, you ****ers need to stop doing the god damn "first" thing because it's serouisly the dumbest thing i have ever seen.

what the **** kind of award do you get for being first?

Posted by: DragonLord on May 7, 2008 at 09:07:39

Good riddance. There is a sidekick already and she looks 1000 times better :-) +1000 for Megan

Posted by: Baeye on May 7, 2008 at 09:13:41

this is disapppointing. i happen to think Hill is funny.

His plumpness would have been a nice contrast to the finely tuned transformer machines.

Posted by: A-Dog on May 7, 2008 at 09:14:22

crap

Elliot hit the nail on the head. Let the film makers get on with their jobs, wait till we see a trailer first then you can start whinging, you fan boys really give a bad name to 'real' fans of transformers, you shouldnt even be included as fans when all you do is criticise and complain, complain, complain.

thank you baby jesus.

So no good news came out of this. A) Transformers 2 is still being made and B) There will be a Night at the Museum 2... sigh
