Columbia Pictures has revealed the full new trailer for Will Smith's superhero action-comedy Hancock, opening in theaters on July 2. Directed by Peter Berg, the film co-stars Charlize Theron and Jason Bateman.

Edgy, conflicted, sarcastic, and misunderstood, Hancock's well-intentioned heroics might get the job done and save countless lives, but always seem to leave jaw-dropping damage in their wake. The public has finally had enough – as grateful as they are to have their local hero, the good citizens of Los Angeles are wondering what they ever did to deserve this guy. Hancock isn't the kind of man who cares what other people think – until the day that he saves the life of PR executive Ray Embrey (Bateman), and the sardonic superhero begins to realize that he may have a vulnerable side after all. Facing that will be Hancock's greatest challenge yet – and a task that may prove impossible as Ray's wife, Mary (Theron), insists that he's a lost cause.

You can watch the trailer in High Definition QuickTime and Flash here!

The official site has been updated as well with a new look, photos, downloads and more.

Great. Another "Fresh Prince" movie. . .

Posted by: iamhancock on May 1, 2008 at 20:29:14

whoa... *possible spoiler* if you look at the high-def version, you can tell charlize theron is his nemesis. he's wearing the same stuff in the scenes where one, he's flipping through a construction scene with a blonde, and two, where he stands behind charlize theron who sinisterly takes off her sunglasses. = ah well, even with that spoiler, the movie'll still be good

Posted by: speedracer216 on May 1, 2008 at 20:48:17

so........ he's basically superman?

except superman was new like 70 years ago. this is a rehash.

gets a big "meh" from me. and i'm a big will smith fan. oh well.

Posted by: handz510 on May 1, 2008 at 21:17:51

yeah, i'm pretty sure charlize theron is the villain in the movie, i remember seeing a picture awhile back with her holding a bus up over her head...she's pretty much the "secret villain that doesn't reveal themselve until the end of the move" chic...

oh yeah...spoiler :)

Posted by: The ButnakedAvenger on May 1, 2008 at 21:35:44

I thought everybody already knew she was the villain? That was news like way back when they announced this movie. That she also had super powers.

They even had a picture of her picking up a car with one hand... i'm pretty sure on this website.

And of course she's saying he's a lost cause the whole time... she doesn't want him to become a hero because he's the only one that can stand up to her.

Come on people.... it's so simple. It's all laid out for you....

It's amazing how much this movie seems to have drifted from the original screenplay, which I really liked. This looks good too, but I liked "Tonight, He Comes" a bit better.

you know what would be cool? if they would stop putting every single action sequence, plot twist and knee slapping joke (i.e entire movie) in every single trailer.

im here every thursday and saturday lol

Posted by: nothing.like-TDK on May 1, 2008 at 22:56:35

they keep on showing the whole movie i mean, i'm not thrilled anymore.

I've just seen iron man maybe an hour ago and again, i've had no surprises. BUT WHO GIVES A S***!! IRON MAN'S A F****** GREAT MOVIE!!

sorry don't wanna see this movie anymore.

This movie looks great.
Weve known charlize theron was the bad guy for a long time.
The only thing this movie and superman have in common is that they both have powers.
This isnt in anyway like fresh prince.
The iron man trailers showed more in them then these have.
Thank you and goodnight.

I think this movie looks pretty good. Kind of a bad time to releasing a superhero movie of a superhero nobody's heard of though. Iron Man, TDK, The Incredible Hulk, Hellboy... quite a few to compete with. I'll still go see it though. Also.. If you don't want all of the footage, spoilers, etc... don't read SHH. That's what this site is for. I love it! One of the best sites ever.

Is it just me or is he wearin a frickin X-man suit ?!

This movie will make more than every other superhero film with the exception of the Dark Knight (although it might) and if Iron Man has a ridiculous opening weekend.

* This film appeals to a much broader pool of viewers than the comic-derived films.
* Will Smith attracts fans that can care less about cartoons and comicbooks.
* The ladies will go see a Mr. Smith film, whereas most can give a piss about geeky comic heroes.
* Will Smith owns summer films.

This film is the only guaranteed superhero hit of the summer. The Dark Knight is essentially a shoe-in, but you never know.
