The Dark Knight viral site IBelieveinHarveyDent.com has been updated with the following:

A MESSAGE FROM HARVEY DENT

Friends, my entire campaign I've talked about how this campaign is a struggle for this city's soul. On the one hand, there are those people who prey on the innocent citizens of Gotham. On the other hand, there is our movement to take back Gotham from crime and corruption.

At Rossi's Deli, we saw that struggle play out. Play out inside the head of the hostage taker, Sgt. Frank Notaro. Some are calling him a "crazed smear cop" but he encapsulates the choice facing us. Do we continue to allow our worst nature to lead us? Or do we take a chance on hope?

That's the choice I laid out to Frank Notaro. And he responded. He released an innocent, terrified girl. He turned himself in. And he is now talking to the police about mob involvement in the smear campaign against me.

That's the real lesson of the incident. We must, all of us, have the courage to hope. If we have the power to change ourselves, if we have the power to change one person, then we have the power to change Gotham.

VIRAL STUFF SHOULD STILL GO ON. IT WOULD FEEL A LITTLE INCOMPLETE IF THEY DID NOT CONTINUE ON WITH IT UNTIL THE MOVIE STARTED

all this viral stuff, just makes me more psyched for the movie. wonder if this hostage situation will end up in the movie? as far as a trailer goes, i could see it being attached to Iron Man in a couple of weeks.

"Do we continue to allow our worst nature to lead us?" Sounds to me like advice that should be given to any villains with Dual Personality.

I wonder if Harvey Dent himself will be something of a villain, or have a dark side shown. maybe his campaign is actually a bit crooked, and it just really comes out when he becomes Two Face.

Or maybe he's good, but under tons of pressure, and the acid just cracks his mind. I'm just so excited, I can't get this boner to go down!

Actually, Smooth, this is one of the most effective, most innovative, and cheapest marketing campaigns available. Batman has enough of a fan base that all they have to do is use a little creativity and the whole country builds hype for them, such as with the campaign to take pictures as the Joker at monuments. They make a little viral website for little money, and everyone advertises for them. That's much better than spending $700,000 on a commercial, and yes, that's how much it costs for one 30 second commercial during American Idol.

to be honest. i never seen a thread as demolished as this one. i honestly feel sad now
but to pick it all up i will share my thoughts.
42 is probably prepping up another big scanvenger hunt. from comic con, to taking pictures, to taking cakes, and now bowling balls. give the viral marketing campgain a chance to think of something grand you guys.
to be honest it is a lot better than the cloverfield one. think about it they are at least giving us updates.
