UPDATE: Kat Dennings Joins Thor

UPDATE: Kat Dennings will play Darcy, who works with Natalie Portman's character, Jane Foster.

Natalie Portman revealed to MTV this weekend that Kat Dennings (Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist) will have a role in director Kenneth Branagh's Thor. She didn't reveal what role Dennings will be playing, however.

Dennings is joining a cast that includes Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Natalie Portman, Anthony Hopkins, Jaimie Alexander, Colm Feore, Samuel L. Jackson, Stellan Skarsgard, Stuart Townsend, Ray Stevenson, Tadanobu Asano and Idris Elba. The Marvel Studios adaptation will be released in theaters by Paramount Pictures on May 20, 2011.

My compliments to SHH. You picked just the right photo of my girlfriend to get the attention of fanboys. Last year you picked a photo that made Emily Blunt appear busty (ironically) and now this (not so ironically). Well done!

Just don't tell my other girlfriend, Christina Hendricks, I said that.

I wonder who she's playing? I'm not familiar enough with Thor's supporting characters to speculate, but she doesn't sem like someone who would fit into the Thor mythology. Maybe she's playing someone from the larger, Avengers universe? Ha! Maybe she's playing Heimdall's girlfriend, just to further irritate the Idris Elba haters? That would be so worth it!

Yeah! Enchantress has no cast yet. She's quite young for the role but I think she can pull it off. She just needs to dye her hair blonde.

hmmm so many people in this movie! people with names! i like it! i agree with the people who say she may play hela. that works for me and if she's in the movie thats awesome (hela)

the fact that so many actors want to be a part of this film has brought my already high hopes up considerably.... people are concerned about how THOR will fit in with the avengers. i hope after this movie people dgaf and will want to see thor mix it up!
