Chuck's Zachary Levi Was Cast in Thor
Source:USA Weekend
November 14, 2009
"Chuck" star Zachary Levi revealed to USA Weekend that he had the role of Warriors Three member Fandral locked up in Thor, but his schedule for the series changed that:
And it's a longer season than they initially thought: NBC originally asked for a 13-episode third season, and then ordered six more. That turned out to be a positive for Chuck but a negative for director Kenneth Branagh's movie Thor, which starts filming in January. Levi was cast as Fandral, one of Thor's Warriors Three in the comic book adaptation, and the actor had even been working out especially for the role, but had to walk away when they got the extra pickup. (Levi admits that producers had asked him to audition for the role of the usually beefy God of Thunder, but told them no. "I'm tall and in pretty good shape, but I'm not big and girthy like that," he says.)
Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Natalie Portman, Anthony Hopkins, Jaimie Alexander, Colm Feore, Samuel L. Jackson and Stellan Skarsgard star in Marvel Studios' big screen adaptation, which Paramount Pictures will release in theaters on May 20, 2011.

I've got to say that's awesome. I love Zachary Levi. I'm sure the movie will have a great cast, and I'm glad that things are looking up for Chuck. Plus it doesn't sound like he's too disappointed, so I'm sure he wasn't putting all of his hopes and dreams on being in Thor. All good news to me!

I, like bigv, never really cared for chuck.
And I couldn't see him as Fandral, seriously.
Im glad this happend. Now let's hope as soon shooting starts the spy cameras will be there so we'll get a look at Hemsworth's THOR :D

Chuck is such an awesome show!!!!!! Glad it's back, but kinda sucks for Zachary Levi.
Plus, the actress who plays Sarah is HOT!!!!!

You mean Yvonne Strahovski?
Anyway, I'm like everybody else, mixed feelings about this. 1) Not sure whether Zach be a good Fandral - he could be! (we could've had the chance to see, but that's out the window), 2) Glad there's more than 13eps. of S3 of 'Chuck'.

spiderdroppings It wasn't early for me.
You know, there ARE people visiting this site from other countries?
Take me for example, I was at work while posting "so early in the morning"
And oh, your opinion was way more pointless than any of ours.

Sounds like they really dodged a bullet with this one, like when Stuart Townsend almost ended up as Aragorn in Lord Of The Rings.

I cound not see "CHUCK" guy playing FANDRAL, so it does not break my heart that he won't be in the "THOR" movie. Now if he would replace TOBY MAGUIRE as SPIDER-MAN,I would be doing back flips.

Chuck is a lame show.
He should've quit and focused his attention on Thor and the possibility of becoming a part of a few sequels (not to mention The Avengers).

People like James really need to read the article. Zachary Levi was to going to be a supporting character named Fandral. BTW Chuck kicks.
