And they show green lanterns ring!!!!

Posted by: John Joseph on November 21, 2009 at 12:20:23

Am I seriously seeing a Green Lantern ring and The Sandman?

Posted by: Everlast on November 21, 2009 at 12:29:27

WOW!!!!!! I can't believe all the people they are putting in it! Sandman! Dr.Fate! Alan Scott-Green Lantern! (we saw the ring anyways!) The picture of the team was awesome too!! Dr. Fate looks Spectacular! Sandman looked cool! And I think Hawkman will look excellent with a good picture! The picture shown was dark and not very clear. Smallville has hit a new high this season! Even Zod is actually a good character. He's not the real Zod, but created from kryptonian technology to save their race if needed. This ROCKS!!!!!

Don't expect to much from Green Lantern or Sandman though.

Spoilers!!!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
From what I have been able to tell Sandman will just be in flashbacks. Also Geoff Johns said they could not use Alan Scott due to copyright reasons. So I'm guessing it will only show his ring.

yea that promo last night was pretty dam sweet. Fate looks pretty dam good. Also the nice peaks at the jsa table, the jsa portait, and sandman/alan scott gl ring were cool. Cant wait for the jsa thing.

and because of the new green lantern movie they are not allowed to use the name or the powers...

Dr. Fate looks AMAZING

This is going to be a quantum leap for the DC universe.
Very good for DC.Sorry for the baby minded kids from
Marvel,They can only see bad Summer movies of his characters.

Posted by: Highrollin on November 21, 2009 at 12:57:41

ok that looked pretty bada$$. loved how Fate looks, even if he wont be in it alot that flas if ring was awesome, Sandman look sweet, and from the pic of Daniele from SG-1 as Hawkman he looked like he would bash some heads in. im not a big fan of the show, but THIS i will see.

God, I love this show. I don't understand all the people who constantly hate the series. If it's just a continuity thing, they need to realize the Smallville series is in its own continuity and take a second to appreciate the fact that NO other comic-based show to ever hit tv has had the depth and amazement that this show has achieved.

Sure, it's had its low moments -- with the exception of Green Arrow, most of Season 6 was disappointing and the series was kind of boring until halfway through Season 7, when the Veritas storyline helped it pick up momentum again that has still carried through to today (with the bizarre exception of Lana overstaying her welcome on the show that one part of Season 8) -- but overall, it's blown me away.

Compare it to any other Supes show (or any other comic-based show on tv) and it stands far above the rest. I hope it gets a 10th season.

WOW!!!

SANDMAN and DR. FATE LOOKS AWESOMENESS!!!

Posted by: mojojackson on November 21, 2009 at 13:04:55

This teaser is freakin awesome! I did not expect Sandman and Green Lantern! Flashback or not, that's damn cool. Fate and Sandman look great. Smallvile is really starting to venture away from its tradition of having its heroes dress in regular clothes that just suggest the colors of the costume they will someday wear (Flash, Aquaman, Clark in previous seasons) and showing hem in their full-fledged costumes. Fate's outfit looks movie quality!

I wish the shot of the painting showed more detail. It looks like the man seated in the center is wearing a reddish-orange shirt with a yellow insignia on it. Could this be Captain Marvel? Was he a member of the JSA?

One more quick comment: One of the most fun things about Smallville is the way it uses iconic images from Superman lore to pay homage to it. I loved how they used Clark's torn insignia flapping in the wind like a flag after a battle to symbolize his apparent death in Lois's vision of the future.

Ha! Remember when people were saying the shot of Clark in his new outfit was a shot from her future vision, with him as dictator-Superman? Thank god that's not the case!

@Mojojackson

It's Jay Garrick(The Flash) seated in the center, not Captain Marvel.

Posted by: Bruce W. on November 21, 2009 at 13:24:02

The characters from the painting that I could make out from L to R as follows:Star Spangled Kid, Wildcat, Atom Smasher, Sandman, The Spectre, Flash (Jay Garrick), Hawkman, Hawkgirl, Dr. Fate, Green Lantern (Alan Scott), Hourman, Dr. Midnite, Liberty Belle,(unknown figure I can't identify)

no batman???? ugh!!!

Posted by: Bruce W. on November 21, 2009 at 13:29:51

The thing I don't understand is why can't the show use other characters like Batman, Wonderwoman, etc. Don't the suits at WB know that they own the characters? Is using Alan Scott going to confuse people when the GL movie comes out?

Posted by: spanish39 on November 21, 2009 at 13:39:56

Are you sure that's not Batman sitting next to Dr. Fate. It's so damn hard to tell. Why is Supes not even in that portrait.

When the hell is Wayne gonna be in this thing?
