now this looks way better than the clutter of a poster that was released a several days ago. i hope the US theatrical version would eventually look like this.

Most foreign countries have a majority of people that speak and read English as their second language. The U.S. is the only major country in the world where the average person speaks one language or less.

@Mitchell

the average person speaks one language or less? i know a hell of a lot of average people and not a single one of them speak less than one language, unless you count babies. haha.

nice poster though.

How many posters does this lame movie need?

Posted by: NOT A TUMOR on December 1, 2008 at 04:53:17

Ok. Here's the thing. Frank Miller is a very talented man. He's worked in the field of movies for years. Why is everyone bashing this film? This could be a very cool movie. And lets not forget, THE WOMEN! This alone makes it worth watching. I went to see AVP R last Xmas and that was a dissapointment, but it's better than listening to a bunch of screaming kids, drunken adults, and bloody Bing Crosby sing White Christmas again. Bah Humbug. I for one, don't mind indulging in a little fantasy with some popcorn and soda for a day that has turned into a commercial for a lot of people. So to those of you who already are saying it is lame, and will be downloading and pirating it the day after it is released, Have a very merry F U!

Good Night Chukklers!

This movie is going to TANK... mark my words! Too much hype. Miller was yesterday's flavor of the day and this movie is about 6 months too late.

@Mitchell:
Does Spanglish, northesternish, and montanian count as a second language?

WTF Frank Miller? Take a page from Alan Moore and stick to the graphic novels.

In terms of design it is a superior piece than the final american poster. Change the copy and we get a cooler poster, that might bring in more people to the theater. And believe me according to the lukewarm fan reaction I saw in San Diego, this movie might have a hard time reaching the 30 million mark. Being a fan of Will Eisner and Frank Miller's work, I sincerely wish I'm wrong. But I seems to me Frank went too over the top with his first solo directorial effort.

But IT seems to me Frank went too over the top with his first solo directorial effort.

PS: That does not mean I won't be there on Christmas Day.

The Spirit international poster looks better than any promotional poster that I can think of that was released for The Spirit in North America.Sold said in his post ''This movie is going to tank.''How does he know that?What he just said goes beyond being a opinion.Because we`re all entitled to our own opinions but we`re not entitled to our own facts.And seeing as The Spirit won`t actually be released for another 24 days ,The Spirit tanking is not a fact(or if it does tank,than it`s not yet a fact).

With Superhero movies like Punisher:War Zone and The Spirit capping off a magnificent year of Superhero movies(obviously I`m not counting Will Smith`s ''Hancock'' and hopefully War Zone and The Spirit will be good movies) I can say 2008 is one of those years that will be remembered in the ****s of movie history.I`ve seen posters on SHH who have posted comments on War Zone and The Spirit that have run the gamut from ''it`s a piece of s***''(about War Zone)
to ''they need to call it The Dud,it will tank big time!''(about The Spirit).

But none of these posters know that for sure.I for one, have always liked The Punisher(the character and the series not the 1989 and 2004 films) and I`m just starting to read more of The Spirit books thanks to Superhero Hype talking about the upcoming movie.I`m looking forward to seeing them both and I`ll reserve my own judgement until I see Punisher:War Zone and The Spirit.And Grafdog was right in his post, obviously there have been a lot of sexually-charged double entendres in the posters for The Spirit.But that`s just Frank Miller brining his own tried-and true formula to the world of Warren Ellis`s The Spirit,he`s a comic book visionary and I want to see how his interpretation of The Spirit will play out at the box -office this holiday season.

Posted by: Da Spirita "My name is how you would probably say it with a japanese accent"

Now why would you need japanese accent? Was it those wordings from the poster? Thats no japanese! That's chinese you dumb**s! Didn't you know how to read? No! not the poster, the threads thats said "Taiwanese poster" not "Japanese" & both Taiwanese & Chinese speaks the same language. Get it?!

@deacon

That's funny!! I was going to say that...

This will suck ass in any language and will definitely take the crown from Batman and Robin as the worst comic to film in all of history. Poor Will Eisner. It's such a pity when a great idea gets crapped on as Miller has done but he sucks so it was expected.
