That looks awesome.
It's not exactly Eisner's original vision, but it looks great.

They used the soundtrack to the Untouchables? That's a little obvious and lame. The clip looks okay though.

People, Keep in mind this is a rough cut of the teaser and it looks great. And i hear recycled music in other trailers all the time. That music from sin city where nancy is dancing is used in the into the blue movie trailer and also in something else i cant remember. sncfrk said that it looks like a joke. Hell no it dosent. All comic movies should be made to look like comic books. Maybe they would be more eye candy for non comic readers to go see them other then the hardcore comic collecter.

Sin City meets Fantastic 4
just put a "hot" chick in a wet suit and unzip a little = $$$$$$$$
throw in a little sin city coloring effects so people think it's a legitimate "film" and you're good to go.
sorry frank miller, i love ya, but your hacking your own work.

Love Will Eisner. Love The Spirit.
Love Frank Miller. Love Sin City.
I'll go see this.
Incidentally, the music is from the film The Untouchables. It's by Ennio Morricone, who also did the music for the Sergio Leone/Clint Eastwood "spaghetti westerns". It was cool to hear that piece of music again. I love it when trailers use other pieces of music that isn't necessarily from that respective film. Like when the original Spider-man teaser (with the Twin Towers) used "Leave You Far Behind" by Lunatic Calm (from the 1st. Matrix flick). Or when Cells-The Servant was used for the teaser trailer of Sin City. That song wasn't even on the Sin City soundtrack (at least not the copy I have). And it was used (originally?) in some movie co-starring Matthew Modine that I caught late one night on FX. Good to hear that piece of music again. Makes me want to dig out my old VHS copy of The Untouchables and watch it while I pencil...
...In fact, I think I will!!!
---Later!

The stunts are crap, looks like a lame MTV clip ... hope there's a lot of T&A otherwise it will suck big time in boxoffice ...
Remember : no T&A = low box office, yup

OK. I understand that it might look like a joke to some and that it is also a very rough cut. In some ways It does look a bit trite but thats only because we are completely desensitized to the whole wow it looks like a comic thing but we could say it looks like a Business suit batman. But I just picked up the paper back and will make a more in depth opinion on a later date. Complete with fan boy rage at any and every flaw Just kidding.

Let's base an opinion on the whole movie because of a teaser trailer which showed no actual scenes from the movie! :D :D And Frank Miller? Pfft, what's that guy ever done that's been succesful?
Good lord where the hell did all of this pessimism come from?
Posted by: SuperDude on April 19, 2008 at 17:05:18
People need to keep in mind one little important fact. Frank Miller has only co directed sin city and was around that type of film making style with green screen etc. He is not a director who went to college and learned all the different types of directing styles but because of his time spent around the sin city set he learned that type of directing style and now has incorparated it into the spirit and it looks ****ing amazing!

As a person who has never read the comics or knows anything about it that trailer didn't do its job and get me interested.
Someone mentioned it before, like Frank Miller copying his own work from Sin City, but cheese balling it up.
(Watchmen fan-boys don't hate, this was just an unbiased opinion of the trailer and what it is supposed to do... particularly evoke excitement for the upcoming film, which it really didn't)
Posted by: SuperDude on April 19, 2008 at 17:15:44
Any one who says there not seeing this film are just lying. You know that all of you are going to check it out anyway. Dont front and act like ****ing babies. I will be there opening day and so will you.

why does he have dr strange's window?
judgeing by the way he was slipping on that rooftop, i think he'll have the crap knocked out of him as much as he did in the comic. i'll probably see this, if anyone's taking a survey.
btw pto, what's the connection between this and watchmen in your mind?

O.k. I'm justing putting this out there, why wont sites like this and many other show their content to Canadians, we get the same release dates same trailers and everything the products and movies must be licensed to sell things over here but why don't we we get internet content, its ridiculous if your putting something on the web to restrict it to one country in the first place. in any case it would be nice if they could post a link where international people can see it instead of me crawling through all the crap that is youtube

I am looking forward to this movie...
But I hope they touch up the special effects with the red tie. Looks choppy.

Weak rip off check casher by miller. The spirit as i recall wasn't a roof top running hero, neither did he narrate his adventures or talk about screaming cities. Millers just grafting his played out sin city motif onto this largely forgotten non costumed comic strip hero.
Miller you suck, i can't wait to blast your next crummy comic book, that is if you could still draw one. Oh wait you do have one coming out batman vs al queida, written by the lie of 911 and drawn by you.

Hey, "ayenlou" I was thinking the same thing. I'm like, it's an 8-bit video game! But if you catch it in HD it's fine, it has to do with the compression in the Flash Player...
Looks cool. Love the city backgrounds.

Why is it lame to use a soundtrack from another movie?
Whats the point of making music if it can only be heard in one place?
Posted by: sytrus on April 19, 2008 at 17:44:06
so good to see this great teaser, can't really wait !
