Tony Stark's Iron Man 2 GP Racer

Road & Track has a photo of Tony Stark's GP racer from Iron Man 2! The magazine says:

This is the Stark Industries-sponsored vintage race car that the movie's main protagonist — genius inventor and swashbuckling lady's man Tony Stark — will be driving in a scene that depicts him racing in the Grand Prix de Monaco Historique, a vintage race held in Monte Carlo. The scene is not being filmed on the actual streets of the tiny, glamorous seaside principality near the south of France, but on an elaborate set that replicates the Monaco circuit.

Directed by Jon Favreau, Iron Man 2 stars Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Jon Favreau, Mickey Rourke, Sam Rockwell, Samuel L. Jackson, Scarlett Johansson, Garry Shandling, John Slattery, Kate Mara, Clark Gregg and Olivia Munn.

This movie is going to be great! Not a huge fan of Iron man, batman is definitely my favorite hero. But Jon knows how to make a good popcorn movie. Wow i cant believe im 3rd on a nerd page. I guess all you dorks are sleepin or something. Well im drunk and could write for hours how you guys are wrong about everything you say except for batman, I do sales for a living, so trust me anything you say i could make you feel like an idiot.. well Go christopher Nolan, Michael bay you need some work but your movies are still good, Jon Favreu your cool, and i love all that visit this site.

I'm also in sales. and that means absolutely nothing. Selling stuff doesn't really mean you can take down somebody's opinion on their favorite superhero..

i see a stark drunk driving incident coming up. with tons and tons of people to watch it in person and on tv so he can't hide it. or this is where whiplash jumps in... which'll be neat but I might prefer to car accident.

And something to keep in mind, just because Iron Man could whoop Whiplash's as$, that doesn't mean Whiplash can't hand it to Tony Stark. if he catches him off guard those whips are gonna do an awful lot of damage.

I only bring this up because there's been a whole lot of "what can whiplash possibly do to Iron Man" chatter on these boards.

why do fan boys think they are such a special breed? i just like movies. my favorites have super heroes, but i don't run around and tell everybody i'm a fan boy. that term is not flattering.

and also

rock on lance. cuz i feel what you're saying. everybody just comes here and bashes every movie, and picture, and casting news and blah blah blah. it gets old. when i hear that new movie is announced i get excited at the possibility of what it could be. i do not instantly think. "oh my god this is gonna be the worst peace of crap ever".

if people could think positive the world would be a much cooler place.

and also i love this site. i just hate reading the comments cuz they always bum me out.

A couple things... Wasn't Tony's original heart problem due to a GP crash?
Also, in that shot of Rourke a while back people were wondering if whiplash was at a NASCAR event... well, maybe that isn't too far from the truth.

I'm 99.9% certain that Tony's heart problem was always caused by shrapnel in his atrial septum. They just changed the location and the war to modernize it for the flick.

For the record. Batman is my fav superhero. But Im a fan of Iron Man also.

I dont buy in to this childish Marvel VS DC BULLSHlT. Why cant people just admit that we look like superhero movies,on both sides mof the fence.

I buy DC comics and Marvel comics. Bats my be my fav superhero,but that doesnt mean I should like Spider-Man or Iron Man any less,just cause they are involved in a childish battle between fans,etc.

Looks like a 90s F1 car, not exactly vintage... Film's shapin' up t'be at least doin Bayformers money at the box office. Though could do with some Scarlett pics of her as Black Window or washername :o

I am sooooo looking forward to this movie, being a huge Iron Man fan this looks so good. This is a rather old picture, been making it's way around the net now for a couple weeks, but I like the car, all part of the first battle between Stark and Vanko.
Can't wait for May 2010.
