what?
Posted by: Joe on October 15, 2008 at 14:23:39
Seeing all the special features online isn't exactly making me want to run out and buy a copy.
Posted by: Leo Jussila on October 15, 2008 at 14:23:53
Oh, i want to see Cap :]
Posted by: abe on October 15, 2008 at 14:32:59
Leo Jussila, that's all anyone wants to see from these deleted scenes. I doubt Marvel will release the footage online before the DVD comes out however.
Either way, I'll be buying the DVD next week. I thought this movie was tops!
Posted by: Leo Jussila on October 15, 2008 at 14:39:44
abe, that scene only seems to be on the Bluray :/ Cause it wasn't at the rental DVD we got here, just on the BLURAY rental...

Oh...the "image" of Captain America is no big deal.
You can see it at Yahoo's entertainment page.
Cap frozen in ice at teh beginning when Banner is walking around in Arctic. If you blink you'll miss it.

yahoo.com had the scene of Cap on their homepage yesterday afternoon; not sure about the site, but if you want to see him i'm sure you could find it. enjoyed the movie, but i am highly anticipating any extra footage they release...
Posted by: Robert on October 15, 2008 at 14:45:12
yeah, the scene is only on the 3 disc special edition. The rental copies don't have all the special features (which kinda sucks cause now I have to shell out $25 for extra scenes)

ya i saw the Cap image too. really not what i expected at all... its pretty much a blur. they also talk about this easter egg in Iron Man too that i checked out and i thought it was pretty cool. Its Cap's shield laying on Tony's desk in the one scene when Pepper walks in on him getting his armor taken off after his fight with the jets. i thought it was cool. i'm pumped for this movie on dvd. i loved it.

What did you not like about this movie Joe? I think this new crop of Marvel Studio produced films is far superior than what has come before. Ghost Rider, Daredevil, FF..both of them and yes I even think the Spiderman movies have been lame teen melodrama movies with too much camp in them. The only good marvel movies in my opinion have been the Incredible Hulk, Iron Man and the X-men movies. The rest have ranged from horrid to mediocre at best.

I'll be getting a copy of this next week at my local Best Buy.
HULK rules!!!

Maybe someone can answer this for me. i've seen the Cap footage, which is kinda stupid cuz it's in the blink of an eye. Anyway, why did they put that in thier? In the Marvel Universe, or any of it's comics, did that happen? Did Hulk find his body, and is that how Cap was frozen? If someone could fill me in, that'd be great. Thanks!!
Posted by: K-Dawg on October 15, 2008 at 16:32:59
BBarber, Cap's shield and frozen body were added as a cameo but made it to the deleted scenes (unfortunately)...but to answer your question, in the comics, Hulk does not find his body....in fact, the Avengers do when they see a floating iceberg, and after melting it, notice it is Cap himself...Cap was frozen after the war and the Avengers thaw him out, and then of course Cap joins them

BBarber, as I recall, Prince Namor originally found Cap floating in ice, and tossed the ice into open water, where he was recovered later. I wish they had actually done the story for the movies this way, with Hulk breaking the ice and exposing Cap to be found later... makes more sense, and doesn't involve ol' fishface/Spock clone, which just won't go over well with the masses. (I know, I know, Namor came before Spock, but the movie going public doesn't!) His discover could have sparked the interest of Shield/the military in reviving the Super Soldier project, and away you go, there's your story as to why the military hunt the Hulk, why the Avengers are formed, yadayadayada. Not to mention as a way to combat the Mutant Threat from X-Men... Lots of ways to go here.

If I remember right in the animated show The Red Skull launches a missile at the USA and cap is on the outside hanging on, he manages to to knock the missile of course to the Arctic. Cap manages to jumpo of before it explodes and is frozen in the ice until he id discovered in the future and then joins The Avengers.

BBarber
In 1945, Cap.America and his sidekick Bucky were trying to stop Baron Zemo from destroying an experimental drone plane. Zemo let the plane fly off, with a bomb, but Cap. and Bucky jumped onto it. While Bucky is defusing the bomb, it explodes. Cap. America is thrown into the waters of the Arctic and because of the super-soldied serum, he freezes instead of dying. Years later (after being worshipped by the local Inuit tribe) he is found and rescued (and thawed) by the Avengers. There is also another story that the super-soldier serum was starting to kill him and he was put in suspended animation until they could cure him. But the "official" story is the Baron Zemo one.
Is there anybody who has heard any other version of this?

freakn can't wait!

BBarber,ico
ico's account has it right up to the Inuit tribe worshipping a frozen Cap, but it was an angry(at surface dwellers) Submariner who stumbles upon the tribe and hurls the chunk of ice into the arctic seas. The Avengers in a sub then find Cap nearly thawed out floating along the east coast in the gulf stream.

hulk sucked...i will pass...the captain america sheild in ironman looks wierd though...from my initial read it looked like the light was glaring off the glass desk...but all in all...cant wait fro the captain to return

lol..lmao...lmfao
the shield in Ironman was not really a shield or was a shield in the making. Look closely and there is no bottom to the star. It looks like some stuff was arranged on the desk to look like Cap's shield with just a quick glance.

That cap thing in Hulk is horrible. On the website Mark gave us, we can see some faint sign of it, but not much. Pretty useless putting it in there, because they said that with the naked eye while normaly watching it, no-one can see him. Pathetic.

I thought this was a good movie. Could have been better but I think there were things Marvel had to do to not make this film appear similar to Ang Lee's. Hopefully dvd/br sales will put a sequel on the map.
