Opening August 7th, the action-adventure stars Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Christopher Eccleston, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Byung Hun Lee, Sienna Miller, Rachel Nichols, Ray Park, Said Taghmaoui, Channing Tatum, Marlon Wayans and Dennis Quaid.

Lets just watch this movie already. God I feel like they show everything before the movie comes out and then its not that fun when they take my 11 bucks for a sub-par movie. But eh whatevs

This movie will suck Devastator's big iron balls.

Posted by: Zene4567 on July 27, 2009 at 15:44:42

It will be a so so movie. Not big enough for a sequel. Dennis Quad is the only saving grace here.

The more I see of it the less and less terrible it looks. I know it will be better then Revenge of the Fallen, biggest let down ever.

If Hasbro execs were crying over this, then that must have been the handful that were left over after the majority who, after seeing Transformers 2, threw themselves out of the nearest window. I have it on good authority that three of them shoved their pens into their eyes after the "I am beneath the enemy's scrotum" line.

Give it a chance after you see the movie then you can complain all you want.

I'm going to be putting my ignorance out there for all to see. I have never really followed G.I. Joe, i know Sommers said he'd had the idea of the accelerator suits for a long time, but i was wondering if there was anything like them actually in the G.I.Joe universe?

Posted by: Flint on July 27, 2009 at 16:12:43

I said it once and I will say it again, the only reason why I am going to see this movie is bc of snakeeyes and stormshadow. Other than that I would wait for the dvd.

hm. well... ya know... i mean if the military is trying to design an accelerator suit...
*cough*bs*cough*
I still think it'll be an entertaining movie. But I may not pay full price for it... and i'm not gonna compare it to Transformer 2.. since I haven't seen that yet, either, and i will not pay full price for...

Wich is lame is that most part of that chase scene looks like it was filmed in some eastern european city.
I live in Paris and the footage we saw in this video just doesn't look like Paris.

Why do ya'll watch it for? Your minds are already made up?

Posted by: MedicalMogul on July 27, 2009 at 16:54:34

I'm gonna give this one a chance and reserve my opinions until after I've seen it. I must admit, in the beginning stages of this, I had little to no hope for it. But I confess...the more they put out there in the commercials & trailers, the more I'm developing some sort of hope for it. It really doesn't look all that bad.

Granted, that's not to say the storyline won't stink. That in itself was my biggest complaint about TF2; great FX & action sequences, no story. I have a feeling this will prove to be the same thing.

Great popcorn flick but use of mind not required.

Yeah the whole thing with the hydraulic armors really reminds me of iron man's costume. It will be better than transformers since Bay lowered the bar so much but i don't think it will be great.I'm still seeing this in the theaters though because i grew up with gijoe

This keeps looking better and better and LMAO at Marlon Wayons! lol

Im going to give it a chance, but I wont hold my breath. Now IF its good then we will all be pleasantly surprised and have to eat our own words! But lest be honest thats not going to happen HAHAHAhahahaha

"hm. well... ya know... i mean if the military is trying to design an accelerator suit...
*cough*bs*cough*"

That's actually true.

was i supposed to be impressed?

Posted by: omnitron on July 27, 2009 at 18:22:45

Is it just me or Heavy Duty has a british accent??!!, maybe the actor's british but c'mon man!

Posted by: Urrrrm? on July 27, 2009 at 21:01:00

The main problem I have had with this from every preview I have seen is that the Baroness does not seem to have an accent. Might be a trivial thing, but it was always an integral part of her character to me.

Suits are just a cheap way of upping the action, which is pointless when you have Ray Parks as Snake Eyes.

Once again, as with Transformers, I understand that the things we loved growing up are a bit dated, and need to be updated to modern times, but some discretion should be used, and a plot line needed

"How did they film the Accelerator Suit action scene?"

Poorly, that's how.

I agree 100 percent with master of the universe he makes more sense then 90 percent of americans these days

Posted by: ico on July 27, 2009 at 23:37:01

Jere: Master of the Universe

Then just go to Canada. I'm not a huge fan of the war either but i'm still going to support our troops.

I can't wait for this movie.
I've been hitting up Target and Wal*Mart every day trying to buy all the figures for this movie.
I'm really finding Destro to be the sexiest of the group. Of course, a girl can dream that Shipwreck will be in the movie as well.
I have a special wet spot for sailors.

Dude, any fan of the toy and cartoon will tell you that this movie looks ****ing retarded. You can't even put it in the same category as Transformers as Transformers was very faithful to the toys and cartoons and was a well made ACTION movie with shallow yet funny characters and great special effects. The characters even kep the same color schemes and names and general story. G.I.Joe to date looks NOTHING like the cartoon nor the toys with the one exception being Snake Eyes. Everyone else has been given generic color-less black, supertight armor called an "accelerator suit" which is RETARDED since every characters interest revolved around being an individual with their own uniform and the top of his profession. This is part of why G.I. Joe was interesting. Every character was different and stood out as they represented indiviuality. Looking at COBRA, they all looked the same according to their respective rank. This us why you had H.E.A.T. Vipers, Iron Grenadiers, Frag Vipers, and so on. This is the first reason this movie will fail. Second reason is the miscasting of characters of actors like Chanum Tatum as Duke or Marlon Wayans as Ripcord (WTF?!). Third reason this movie us going to suck is because like past movies where egos and moron ideas get in the way of staying faithful to the source material. At best this will be an abortion like the bastardized but financially successful Wanted and at worst, this will he the dud critics and people laugh at. Stupid Hasbro, WTF were you thinking?!
