No, no, no... THIS is a GREAT idea.
We don't take time to acknowledge the REAL heroes anymore. This site is the PERFECT place to do just that.

They're trying to make up for the fact that their movie isn't about real American heroes.

Good for them. Great way to give some underapreciated people the recognition they deserve.
Too bad I don't know anyone to recommend.

Anything with a Wayans brother in it is the movie equivalent to a giant, steaming, foaming, frothy, pile of monkey ****.

Yo Joe! G.I. Joe the greatest American hero. Wherever there's trouble G.I. Joe is there!

Seeing as how you Americans refuse to do it. I shall do it for you:
HAPPY BIRTHDAY CANADA!

Why would we want to punish a hero by giving him a screening of a Marlon Wayans movie?

I must say when I first started looking into this movie I did not see much potential at all. But I must admit that the more I see of it the better it looks. Not like transformers which I did like a little but it was not as good as it looked to be. This is a good Idea.

Dear Paramount...
The real American heroes are the soldiers fighting right now in the Middle East.
Who should've been your inspiration to begin with...
Now, you know...
(C'mon somebody finish the line)

I have decided to boycott this film because frankly it looks like ****. This will be the first so called summer blockbuster that i dont want to see and i wont pay $10.00 dollars to see. Ill just pay the $1 dollar when it comes to RedBox by walgreens because thats all its worth. Im sick of Hollywood releasing crap and the stupid masses just eat it up. Hollywood is basically calling us stupid and i dont really appreciate that.

They'd get more entries and publicity if the contest was to keep the movie from showing in your hometown.

@ SJ
What do you mean "Because you Americans refuse to do it"?
You act like we all know it's Canada's birthday, but we're just too prideful to say anything. Why should we know or care when another country was born? Are you going to go around on Saturday wishing everyone in Canada a Happy US Independence Day?

Wow. I wonder if we can get a chart (when the contest is over) showing the lack of participation. This movie looks like it's going to suck. I'm going to vote for someone else's town :)

Hometown screening means they suspect it may bomb. They did this with Wolverine.

Guys, GIJOE: Rise Of Cobra is going to be alot better than Wolverine: XMEN Origins. Without a doubt I put that movie way above Brett Ratner's 2006 disastor film XMEN: The Last Stand. Anyway, GI is going to make enormous money in August for the amazing special effects, visual and character dialogue. General Hawk's team of Joe fighters versus Commander Cobra and his terrorist empire.

Target put out the entire G.I.Joe movie Action figure line. Yesterday. Including Cobra Commander. So go judge for yourself.
Interviews in Wizard Magazine. With actors and movie crew tell me that this movie will suck big time.
Toyfare 138 March 2009, Costume designer Ellen Mirojnick: T.F. "We heard about time serious constraints with the design of the costumes, instead of the normal 26 weeks how long did you have?"
Mirojnick "8 weeks"
Wizard 214 August 2009: Interview with Wayans and Nichols.
Wizard: "We hear that there is a love Triangle between Snake-Eyes,Scarlet, And Ripcord." Wanyans And Nichols: "Yes"

Who exaclty are the good guys anymore? they surly arn't refering to our military, or the twisted government that pushes their buttons.
Posted by: Darkhawk77 on July 6, 2009 at 16:21:11
I think they're asking if we know anyone serving or anyone who served. In which case yes, i know a few.

What is lame is the imature and insensitive commentary by some! Many thought Rambo was going to suck and it was one hell of an action movie. Judge a film on what it is trying to do. GI JOE is making an action movie that is fun, lots of action and not vering from the original characters. In this they succede. It was a great show and highly entertaining.
And to the Canadians, grow up, your making us look foolish. When we earn the right to brag then we will get the acknowledgement we deserve.
