David Goyer in Talks for Ghost Rider 2
September 23, 2009
Variety is reporting that Columbia Pictures is moving forward with a sequel to Ghost Rider.
David Goyer is in early talks to create the story and supervise writers for a film expected to once again star Nicolas Cage.
The trade adds that plans are under way to base the sequel on a script written years ago by Goyer (The Dark Knight, "Blade" franchise"). The original Ghost Rider was written by director Mark Steven Johnson.
The second installment will be produced by Avi Arad, Michael De Luca and Steven Paul, with Gary Foster serving as executive producer.

Ah, good news indeed. The first one was alright, can't really say much better about it than that though. Well, maybe that the rider himself looked pretty cool. And I do like most of Goyer's work so yeah, I'm not gonna go ahead and write Ghost Rider off just yet...

I don't see any way the sequel could recover from the insulting "Wherever there is evil, I'll be there" speech, delivered ever-so-impotently by Cage. The first was honestly one of the worst movies I've ever seen.

I remember reading a long time ago before X-men came out that Goyer's script was approved. Then they put out that P-13 travesty. Keep the love crap out of it. And keep Ghost Riders head on fire for crying out loud. Nobody needs to see Cage's face. The movie isnt about Cage its about Ghost Rider. The movie was so bad it didnt make sense. Now that Disney Merger is coming all the studios are calling out trilogy's for the characters they own just to keep them there. Not to put out good films. I like that Goyer is now attached though. I just hope he doesnt direct. Bring Steven Noorington Back. He brought Blade to screen effortlessly. I would love to see what he could do to this. Im sure he wont have Cage showering and eating Jelly Beans while getting beat by the evil elements of earth air and wind. And please, do all the Villians have to have F***ing jackets? Come on. Just Google picks of all the Marvel film Villians since the Matrix came out. All them in Jackets and look no where near they're counter parts.

"... once again star Nicolas Cage."
This what killed the anticipation.

Fanbois make me moist in the pants.
He HELPED with the scripts of Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. Don't give him too much credit for Christopher Nolan's direction and story telling.
But, he did do the Blade show, and the last two Blade films (directing the TERRIBLE Blade:Trinity). He has also done several other movies/shows that are god awful.
Quit drinking the juice....

If that stinking old man Nicolas Cage is in it, then I have to pass. He was too damn old back in 07.

Why for the love of god do we need a sequel to this...cage is half retarded and goyer ain't much better don't swing on his sack cause he had credits on helping on the last two batman movies they were great do to Nolan and the cast and blade2 was good again because of it's director del toro.unless they recast Johnny blaze this is epic fail

just no mendes. Give Roxanne a little self respect in this movie.

Warma Sheen is correct, the score didn't really suit the movie.
All these MSJ-haters need to realise, he's made a living out of this. Have they?
I've met MSJ and he's a down-to-Earth honest guy. He gets my full respect.
As for Ghost Rider 2? I can't wait.

@ Warma Sheen
He looks that way, because he's so old he has rigor mortis.

Part 2 should be about Nic Cages Johnny Blaze passing the mantle onto Dan Ketch. Dan Ketch can be played by some young actor who doesn't look nor act like a fruitloop. I honestly didn't dislike Ghost Rider like others here did.

Wow another Ghost Rider do you think this time Johnny could actually drink a beer this time since thats what he did mostly in the comics.
I mean why keep to the comics not like thats how they got famous or anything

i can't say these are good news for me.I like the ghost rider but the first movie was one of the worst comic book movies i've ever seen, nic cage was totally miscast and wes bentley was terrible. This franchise would benefit from a reboot with a young actor in his thirties and a decent director.Proyas would be a better suited director for this since was crow was really good back in the day and dark city as well.As for Goyer i too believe you give him way too much credit,if it wasn't for Nolan i doubt we would see a good batman film.I certainly hope they won't consider him as the director after the awful blade trinity.
