ComingSoon.net reports that The Dark Knight continued to do well in North America and overseas in its sixth weekend in theaters:

Christopher Nolan's mega-blockbuster The Dark Knight (Warner Bros.) continues to thrive with $10.3 million in its sixth weekend, the first time since opening where it's not in the Top 5 for its respective weekend compared to other movies. Even so, its running total domestically is up to $489 million, which means it could hit that elusive $500 million mark by Labor Day. That amount has only been seen once before domestically, by James Cameron's Titanic, which made more than twice "Dark Knight's" weekend gross in its own sixth weekend.

Internationally, The Dark Knight added another $34 million from 7,700 theaters in 62 markets. The overseas total has hit $381.2 million and the film has reached $870.4 million worldwide, climbing to 15th on the all-time worldwide blockbuster list.

Its clear now that the Dark Knight will get about $530,000,000 domestically unless everyone decides to go rally together and see it a bunch of times. Too bad it will fall short of Titanic, I had such high hopes...

I hope and pray TDK tops Titanic.....but i'm still holding out hope!!!!

Dark Knight rocked and by far set the bar for comic book based films. I hope it keeps going strong over the Labor Day weekend! Props Chris Nolan and Cast and Crew

"It's not about the money, it's about sending a message" BLAH BLAH BLAH. I say, screw that, it is about the money! $110M away from Titanic and a holiday weekend coming up to boost it more. All I'm saying is, if everyone who saw it within the first 2 1/2 days goes to see it again it'd beat Titanic and I'm sorry, but that movie sucked and deserves to "sink" lol. Our new campaign "Sink Titanic...(again)"

Just 20 more million and it will beat spider-man 3 for worldwide gross. Then it will be both #1 comic book movie domestic and worldwide!!!

THE DARK KNIGHT SHOWED THE WORLD THAT YOU CAN MAKE A SUPERHERO MOVIE WITHOUT INSULTING THE AUDIENCE'S INTELLIGENCE.

Jony d! said, "that if this is a good movie, that must be the films of superman, not a little child o kidult"

Am I the only one that has no clue what this statement means?

Posted by: Spyder121 on August 25, 2008 at 02:03:40

DARK KNIGHT SPUNKMEISTER said, "I MUST STROKE MYSELF TO THESE NUMBERS!"

Dude...you should really keep certain things to yourself. This is a bit frightening.
