I keep hearing people describing The Dark Knight as a masterpiece, or that this guy deserves an award for his preformance...
Yeah, it looks like they're correct on both counts.
This is gonna blow every other comic movie away, it's like comparing Little League to the Majors...

man this movie is way too over-hyped. i'm sure dark knight will be awesome to see but man warner bros has over-hyped this thing to death. lol just goes to show you how WB executives are nervous about it considering the box office results of superman returns.

I want to be the voice of reason here.
If you are like me and you really want to enjoy the movie in the theater DO NOT WATCH A SINGLE CLIP.
This is too much. The excitement has been built up already. We don't need anymore viral marketing, or special trailers. As a matter of fact, I think only a few thirty second spots are needed from now on. Practically half of the movie has been given away already. I'll sit out the trailers until the movie is released.
(And even then I'll have to wait because all the theaters in my local area are already sold out from advanced tickets.)

Okay, foot in mouth, here. SHH! advises you to wait before watching the clips, so that's what I'm going to do.
Thanks for the clips, SHH!

Dark Knight is a failed attempt to revive the popular character Batman portrayed by Adam West in the classic TV series of the same name. What The Dark Knight is missing is the colorful characters and witty dialogue of the TV series on which it is based. Instead of the audience pleasing "biff" and "pows" the Dark Knight favors a dark and depressing tone.
The Dark Knight does follow the tradition of hiring popular actors to portray the villainous characters that inhabit Gotham City. But unlike the wonderful performances of Cesar Romero as the 60's Joker or Eartha Kitt as Catwoman, the Dark Knight favors dreary performances from Oscar caliber actors like Gary Oldman and Micheal Caine that seem out of place in this superhero movie.
My suggestion is if you want to see some great Batman fun this weekend go rent 1998's Batman and Robin which features great performances from George Clooney and Uma Thurman and returns to the fun of the TV show. Also for the kids check out the comic books that are based on the TV show.

This movie looks like absolute crap! Nolan is an *$$hole and he ruined Batman! Also I'm tired of people saying "Oh Heath Ledger gonna get an oscar for this!" They're are only saying it cuz he's dead! Heath Ledger could care less about getting an oscar. Know why? Cuz HE'S DEAD! Do you think he's sitting around worrying whether this film does well? Well he's not because he's DEAD! Having a blockbuster movie and an oscar isn't gonna make him undead! If the hollywood jerkasses wanted to give him an oscar they should have done it when he was still alive and could appreciate it! They didn't deem him worthy then but now thats he's dead they wanna give him a sympathy vote. I'm tired of all these people all of a sudden saying how great of an actor he was when I really don't remember them saying it when he was still alive. I never liked Heath Ledger's work and now that he's dead I have enough respect for the man not to pretend that I did. OSCAR? Sorry but he didn't have the chops!

Jared, for your wonderfully inventive sarcasm, prepare to be gutted like a fish. I now release thousands of rabid fanboys in your general direction.

The Oscar board will have to be pressed to have Ledger as "best supporting" or "best" actor. His death may get him the nod but why care about the Oscars? Why should his portrayal of the Joker be defined by a nod or an award from the "the old, I'm into movies that have no appeal to the masses board of people who vote at the Academy". If his take as the Joker is as good as it looks, the fans reaction will be enough for glory!
p.s.Then Oscars tend to give awards away when they know they f-ed up. Look it up...look at how many awards they gave to those, who gave great performances, who are not with us now.
