Is Hitler One of the Villains in Transformers: The Last Knight?

It looks like the Transformers may be facing off against Adolph Hitler in next summer’s sequel

Details on the now-in-production Transformers: The Last Knight continue to develop in curious ways. Following recent confirmation that the plot involves both King Arthur and Merlin comes evidence that the storyline features both Adolph Hitler and Sir Winston Churchill as well. Check out the below embed from FameFlyNet for a look at the film’s production at Churchill’s childhood home, Blenheim Palace.

Naturally, word of Nazi flags being raised at Churchill’s home has already caused a controversy, but director Michael Bay promises that things will make more sense once the full plot to the film is revealed.

“There’s a thing I saw in the paper about Blenheim,” Bay told BBC News“and I just want to say that people were not fortunate enough to read the script. They don’t know that Churchill, in this movie, is a big hero and Churchill would be smiling about last night.”

Although it has not been officially confirmed, recent video from the set, suggests that we might be seeing Sir Anthony Hopkins in the Churchill role. Could his childhood home being taken over by the Third Reich represent a parallel timeline that he’ll have to team with the Transformers and King Arthur to avoid? Time will tell, so check back for more details as they become available.

Paramount Pictures film, Transformers: The Last Knight is confirmed to also include the return of Transformers: Age of Extinction star Mark Wahlberg as Cade Yeager, Josh Duhamel as Lieutenant Colonel Lennox, Tyrese Gibson as Robert Epps, Stanley Tucci as Joshua Joyce, as well as a new role for Isabela Moner (100 Things to Do Before High School, Growing Up Fisher) as the film’s female lead, Izabella. Jerrod Carmichael, Laura Haddock and Santiago Cabrera also have roles, as Liam Carrigan (Once Upon a Time), who plays King Arthur.

It is unknown whether or not Hitler himself will appear on screen or, if he does, who might be playing the role.

A few of the titular robots in disguise have also been confirmed to return, including Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Drift, Hound, Crosshairs, Hot Rod, and Sqweeks for the Autobots, with Megatron, Barricade, and Onslaught for the Decepticons.

Michael Bay returns to the director’s chair for the film, which is written by Iron Man scribes Art Marcum & Matt Holloway and Ken Nolan (Black Hawk Down). Ian Bryce, Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Don Murphy and Tom DeSanto will produce the sequel.

Transformers: The Last Knight will debut in theaters on June 23, 2017. Plans for the franchise already include a Bumblebee spin-off film to be released June 8, 2018 and the sixth Transformers movie set to debut June 28, 2019.
